I thought maybe this was the best way to talk about our favorite teams this season rather than individual threads for each team.

I suspected that if Seattle wasn't able to beat the Rams, something was seriously wrong in the emerald city. But this win comes at a very opportunistic time for the Hawks. With the bye week next, they have a chance to heal, and maybe get back all 4 or 5 injued Receivers, so its very timely. Their next opponent with be the Giants...not an easy task.

How long till Scott Linehan is fired? One game? Two? Midseason? The end of the season? How can he possibly last that long?

How long till the Rams clear out the entire front office? If the Lions did the right thing by canning Matt Millen, then shouldn't the Rams dump Jay Zygmunt? They have been horrible for most of their time in St. Louis, with the sole exception of Dick Vermeil's brief tenure and Mike Martz's years, and like idiots they got rid of Mad Mike.

They have become the team they used to beat regularly, the Arizona Cardinals, while the Cardinals may actually do pretty well for a change.

FIVE first-half turnovers? THIRTY-FOUR points allowed in the second quarter? Running a play with 10 seconds left in the first half instead of taking a knee, already down 31-0, fumbling it away to allow a field goal to end the half!?! Good grief! Congratulations to the Arizona Cardinals, this season's first full-fledged, no-doubt-about-it, 100-percent FRAUD!!!

Word has it that the Rams Coach is toast.

Well now a second NFC West coach has been fired....the Niners gave Mike Nolan the heave-ho and named Mike Singletary the new coach. I can't remember so many coaches being fired mid-season like this. Certainly seems to have sparked the Rams.

It has been a nightmare of a season for the Seahawks. NIGHT.MARE. Injuries have played a major part of the offense breaking down, but there are serious holes in every facet of their game. 9 different starting wide receivers as of last Sunday, mainly due to injuries. Incredible. The Seahawks "D", which was supposed to be the strength of this team, must have the worst 3rd down defense in the league. It can be 3rd and 40 and teams seem to pick up the first down. Our corners are horrible and over rated. The secondary has made every opposing QB have career days and made all of them look like potential pro bowlers. I think the most solid player has been kicker Olindo Mare followed by rookie Tight End John Carlson. If your kicker is the most solid player, you are in trouble.

They must win this weekend in San Francisco if they have any ideas of getting back into the race. Luckily, it is the NFC West. And who knows if Matt Hasselbeck will be back this week. Seneca Wallace is not the answer. Just make him a wide receiver and go with Charlie Frye...which is not saying much either. It's a shame that they aren't doing better in Holmgren's last season.

If the Hawks don't turn it around quick, this will be the darkest days in Washington Sports history. Seahawks - free falling. Mariners, worst in league. Sonics, gone. Huskies and Cougars - 1 & 2 in worst in nation. Sad days in Seattle. And to top it off, now comes the fall/winter rain. sad.gif

Agreed! In all my years of following the Hawks I have NEVER EVER seen a year where injuries have been this bad. It brings new meaning to the word decimated. I know Holmgren did not want to go out like this....

There has been some talk that Holmgren might be coaxed into the Niners job next season if the Singletary experiment doesn't work. And of course Pete Carrol's name has popped up.
hockeyTom
Just my opinion, but the 49ers could do better, than signing Holmgren. All in all, he has been a disappointment as far as I am concerned......
