I won't believe this story until I see it from 30 additional news sources.

Has anybody checked on Cyd? I hope Dan hid all the sharp objects.

As much as I can't stand Tom Brady, I never hope for any player to have a season ending injury. If true, that sucks for him. It certainly didn't look good on the replays I saw.

This is just awful news...I really hate when big time guys go down like this. I heard the Pats are bringing in Chris Simms and Tim Rattay to work out. But what about the recently retired Daunte Culpepper? He and Randy Moss teamed up for one of the greatest QB seasons ever. He is viewed as a malcontent but the Pats have taken on bigger baggage than him. Worth a shot...

The AFC is up for grabs. The Pats are Brady-less and the other "contenders" are bordering on fraud status.

Karma's a b*tch.
If the NFL wouldn't come down on the Pats hard enough, the football gods will.
Pats fans might not have needed to have so much concern about Matt Cassels' ability if the Pats would have let him see the field more often last season while holding onto five touchdown fourth quarter leads.
And oh yeah, who was on the cover of the SI NFL Preview issue? Just sayin'...
That said, not the end of the world for the Pats and not by a longshot. Still lotsa talent....Randy Moss still a Patriot.
Wonder if Culpepper regrets his decision to retire?

Maybe it's just me but but haven't we seen retired players "unretire" before :

I feel really bad for Brady and it's a loss to all NFL fans, but a lot of people are thinking Karma for Belicheat.

Brady has been my favorite player since our Michigan days and I've been especially proud to watch him go from the 199th pick to Super Bowl hero. This is devastating news. But I believe he'll come back stronger than ever.

You mean Bellichick, right? The man who was caught videotaping something that he should not have been, in the FIRST quarter of the FIRST game of last season, and then under the very watchful eye of the NFL so no more videotaping would occur, went on to guide his team to win all 16 games during the season and the first 2 post-season games? That Bellichick?

I think he means the one who won every game last year except the one that counted, the Super Bowl, which he lost and then ran off the field before the clock ran out because he not gracious enough, or man enough, to congratulate the man and the team that out-performed him. That one.

I thought it was because he just didn't want to catch any cooties from Eli
