Joe in Philly
Are you ready for year number 6? Hope so, because I'd like to see more participation than in previous years in order to keep this going.

Anyway, here are the rules: after the games are played each week, present your top teams ranked from 1 to 10 -- no ties, don't pick only 5 or 8 or 15. You can post them here, e-mail me or send me a PM. Please double-check before sending/posting so that you don't make a mistake such as listing a team twice or something, especially if you don't look at the board every day. I will tease you mercilessly if you screw up. biggrin.gif I will add up the results, with points in reverse of the ranking (10 points for a first-place vote, 9 points for second, etc.) and post the tally for each week prior to the next weekend's games, probably around Friday night or Saturday -- earlier if there are Thursday games. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Here is the final top 10 from the final poll of the 2007 season:

1. New England
2. Indianapolis
3. Dallas
4. Jacksonville
5. Green Bay
6. San Diego
7. Pittsburgh
8. Seattle
9. Tennessee
10. Washington

Notice how the Super Bowl champs didn't even make the top 10 in the final poll (the Giants finished 11th that week) -- that's a first in the poll's history. In 2006 the two Super teams were #4 and #6, in 2005 they were #2 and #5, in 2004 they were #2 and #4 and in 2003 they were #1 and #10.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to participate in ranking week 2's teams. Due to Hurricane Ike, the only game I was able to see was the Dal/Phil game. So I couldn't rank since I didn't have an informed opinion on the rest of the league.

I will be back this week, now that my power is completely restored.

Glad you're back online. As you can tell there really wasn't interest this year.

I'm pulling straws for 2 through 10. I don't believe any of these teams are that good. I'm shocked Indy and New England aren't anywhere near the top. Dallas is the only team impressing me at this point in the season.
