No Tiger, and a bunch of rookies, yet somehow Team USA jumps out to a
5 1/2 - 2 1/2 first day lead.
Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim make an interesting veteran-rookie Ryder Cup pairing.

I haven't watched much yet, but I have to think that it's better for the USA not to have Tiger. He doesn't care about the Ryder Cup, which is a horrible situation when he's the de facto team captain. With him, it's Tiger and a bunch of other guys. Without him, they can play like a team.

I agree. Tiger never liked it and felt obligated to do it. So this is one aspect of his surgery he can sit back and be thankful for....that he doesn't have to participate in something he clearly doesn't enjoy, but feels forced to do. So its a win-win on both sides. Recover soon Tiger!!

Led by the likes of Anthony Kim, Boo Weekley, and Kenny Perry, the USA takes back the Ryder Cup
16 1/2 - 11 1/2.

Interesting the choice of the typically Tiger red shirts for the final day of competition.
It is unfortunate that Tiger never has enjoyed the Ryder Cup- he plays with so much passion for himself- it is a shame he cannot channel that energy into playing for his country.
