“Gay Marriage is Good for Sports.”

Spain legalized same-sex marriage and that year the soccer team won the Euro soccer championship for the first time since 1964. Canada did the same before the 2006 Olympics and garnered the most medals in the country’s history. Back in the US, Massachusetts legalized gay marriage and the Red Sox won the World Series… twice.

First, I look to the obvious California. The Anaheim Angels clinched the AL West a whopping 17 games ahead of the Texas Rangers. Link that to the incredible amount of political and grassroots pressure to stop Proposition 8 in November, and I think you have a winning combination. Here’s my prediction: Anaheim Angels flying on rainbow wings, all the way to the World Series.
