How about we try and get together for some of the Divisional round games next weekend? Kind of short notice for this weekend. And since there is only one game at a time, we can go pretty much anywhere we want. Even, dare I say, a gay bar!
I have to work Saturday and Sunday nights, so it depends what time the games are scheduled for to determine which day I prefer. And I can try and switch my schedule around.

I can't make it next weekend. I'll be in Nashville for the NCAA convention. I can make it for the conference championships if that Sunday is better, or you want to meet up for both.

I don't have plans so I could take the train up any day. I would prefer it not to be next Sunday when the Eagles play, because I know someone who occasionally has an extra ticket at the last minute and I want to be available just in case he e-mails me.
Next weekend's schedule:
Saturday, Jan. 10
TBA at St. Louis, 4:30 pm (FOX)
TBA at New England, 8:15 pm (CBS)
Sunday, Jan. 11
TBA at Kansas City, 1:00 pm (CBS)
TBA at Philadelphia, 4:45 pm (FOX)

Wow, I am so out of the loop. I just found out Cyd has moved to NYC, and is actually my neighbor. Who knew?!? I've been at my place in Fort Lauderdale the past couple of weeks, and have discovered that we have - miracle of miracles - a gay bar that shows sports on the TV and even makes special plans around NFL games. It amazes me that we apparently don't have enough support for that in a city the size of New York - especially since I have breakfast every morning with six guys, five of whom read the sports section first. Anyway, enough of a rant - I'm in town the weekends of the 10th and 17th, so I can probably join you all.

Might I suggest we hook up for the Conference Championship games on Sunday January 18. The AFC game starts at 3:00, the NFC at 6:45? And if anyone wants to do anything next week, that would be fun too. I just need a bit of notice so I can try and switch my work schedule.

Conference Championship Sunday sounds great!! That would give me a couple of weeks to get this damned back healed already!
It would be fun to see everyone again! It's been a while.
I'll keep checking for updates here.

I'll be there (where?) for the early game. Have tix for Bette Midler at MSG that night, so I'll have to skip the late game.

I anyone wants to meet this Sunday as well I'm up for that, too.
Uh, CHF, if your back's hurting you stay off it.

Alright so I assume we are on for next Sunday for the Conference Championship games. I've already swithced shifts so I have that Sunday off.
As for location, I think Barrow Street Ale House is as good a choice as any. We can drink as well as get food. And it can accomodate a good sized group. Anyone who plans on coming leave a message here or email me. First game is at 3pm, so we can meet right around then or a few minutes before.

I want to come, but I'm not sure I can make it (academic committments, being broke, plus wanting to stay warm @ my onw place, et al.)
If my roommate gets pissy, though, that I have football on, I might throw on an extra layer and schlep over. I'm not terribly fond of Barrow BUT it's super-close to the Christopher Street train station.

hey I'll be there, wherever there is. And so I don't make a complete fool of myself--should I download stats before I leave my apt, so I'll sound like I know what I'm talking about? When it comes to football, I only really have anything to say about the Eagles, and then it's the one note song that if it were not for McNabb and Reid, and okay Duce, there would be no team. It's like Donavan has had to do it all for the past three years and Philly will never win the kitandkaboodle because one man can't do it all. How's that for an entree?

Okay, I count only five of us for tomorrows game: myself, GeorgeVikingFan, Munson Man, pat125 and Cyd. Location: Barrow Street Pub. But I'm willing to open my apt on the Upper East Side if the number stays low. Very lowkey, but it's so much easier to entertain at home. Any takers or should we stick with barrow Street whereever that is.

Thanks for the offer shore-very nice and hospitable of you. But others may join us like Sheaboy and BMan. And if some of the guys don't check the board between now and then, they won't get the word in time. Might be too short notice. Let's just leave it at Barrow Street Ale House for this time.
Sorry you won't be there CHF. I almost feel we should just cancel! wink

Seriously I hope the back is improving and if you change your mind and feel up to it, stop on by!
As for anyone else the final plans are as follows:
Barrow Street Ale House
15 Barrow St (& 7th Ave.)
(212) 691-6127
Take the #1/9 train to Christopher Street. Walk east down West 4th Street. Your first right is Barrow Street. The bar is on the left side of the street next to the restaurant One If By Land. We'll be there a little before 3.
Oh and anyone who has a digital camera, please bring it. Perhaps we can get Outsports to post a pic or 2 from the day! See you tomorrow!!!

Well BMan f were up to me of course you'd still be invited. But you know that Cyd can be as prickly as a pear, so you may just be wait listed for the SB Party.

Small but fun get together. Lots of laughs adn the desired result by us all, well except for MunsonMan who should change his name to Munson Manning. And though we weren't together for the NFC game, all our wishes came true, again except for one who was pulling for Philly. Looking forwrd to the Super Bowl!

I've never been superstitious until I met Jim. For some reason, the forces of nature actually do channel the outcomes of games through dolls, boxes of cereal, and shirts Jim wears or has around the house. He got a jersey before the playoffs for "Peyton's Lips".
Unfortunately, Mom Zeigler channels those forces even more. It was her birthday when the Pats won the SB two years ago. She sent me a shirt this week with five faces of the Pats' "homeland defense" which I wore to the game. Thank you, Mom!

I'd love to see a Colts-Pats rivalry get heated up. They're two very good teams with room to grow. Maybe that game last night was the beginning of a Niners-'Boys type rivalry!

We took a vow, and I'm telling the truth, to not reveal anything that went on except involving the game. So I will not reveal anything about individuals going off alone, or what was spied from the balcony, who drank tooo much, or who will not be invited back. But Joe in Philly, we did talk about you, aren't you glad to know that. Better to be talked about than not known at all.

The party was lots of fun. Kudos to Cyd and Dan. And it was great to see and meet other Outsporters. As happy as Cyd was after Vinitieri's FG, that's how disappointed Shore was that his Panthers had come oh so close. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
