Not the killer Jayson or the idiot that crashed his motorcycle JWill, but Mr. White Chocolate himself has announced his retirement after 10 seasons in the NBA. You all remember mostly for his early years in Memphis and Sacramento when he would play the game with reckless abandon and show off. While he will never be remembered for having the greatest jumpshot or making the best decisions during a fastbreak, he did end up winning a championship ring with Miami. However, his career since then has been hit by injury after injury (seems to be a common thing for that whole Miami team, who to this day I still think sold their souls to the Devil).

This announcement came as a shocker to me as the Clippers had signed him as a free agent this summer as a backup to Baron Davis.

I've always said Miami sold its soul to the Devil too. Now if only He would come back and fetch Pat Riley!

Although Williams was kind of a nut (Shaq helped keep him in line a bit), I respect players who retire when they can't perform any more, even though they can still sucker some team into paying them. Particularly since the Clippers are going nowhere, no how, no time soon, why should he hang around with them as a backup (other than for the money)?

It's funny how there have been so many Jason/Jayson Williams in the NBA.
