Yeah! Our show is back on the air. What did you guys think?
I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched but I love the balance that this show strikes. Family is huge for me and seeing this one hit so many different points is a great ride. Like the line about trust. It's so juicy and they can't go anywhere because they are related.
I'm not the biggest fan of the ABC model of drama where they try to be really funny sometimes and really tragic at others, but of the shows on now B&S does it the best in my opinion. And I can't wait for more cat fights and anger to unfold.
I did miss seeing Scottie and Kevin get a proper honeymoon and make out feverishly. But other than that, it was total Sunday night with cookies and soy milk fun.

I read a rumour that Jason Ritter may be cast as the mystery half-brother Ryan.

and I won't be surprised if "Ryan" will steal Rebecca away from Justin.
this is getting so predictable.

I was hoping that Ryan would steal Scottie away from Kevin.

I don't think it's predictable yet...

didn't see that way but it's possible!
But they're already crowded with gay characters (3 so far, and 1 shows up once in awhile) and one more, the network will have a boycott issue to handle.
btw, really loved it when nora dropped the news to holly.

Agreed! That was the best scene in the episode. I'm hoping Sally Field drops the niceness towards Holly and the two really go at it this season.

This is easily becoming my favorite show on television right now- the characters are relatively "real" and draw you in to wanting to know them. The cast is all-around amazing.
Although how the hell Kevin could purchase a mansion based on his current finances-- I have no idea.

Although Dave Foley's (gay) guest character last night was rather annoying, he had one hilarious line. After Sally Field tells off the Walker boys and storms out of the house he says (deadpan) something like, "Wow, dinner AND a show."

Bro & Sis is my favorite show as well. Naturally the fact that Kevin and Scottie are the only gay couple on TV that I can actually relate too helps a lot. I love that they aren't the perfect couple but have issues that any couple might have. And Scottie is so sensitive.

The rest of the characters do pull you in, I agree. Last night, I was asking my tv screen, can this family ever have a dinner party without some big brewhaha erupting? I said "hell no" out loud and just started laughing. I think no matter what, the fact that they are always going to be family is comforting to watch.

I think Dave Foley is a shoo-in for an Emmy nomination for guest actor in a drama for last night's show. He was hilarious... a bit over-the-top, but haven't we all met someone exactly like that before? That "dinner AND a show" line was hysterical.
Between Sunday's Brothers & Sisters and Saturday's SNL featuring Paul Rudd, this was like the gayest weekend of the TV season so far.

I love this show, too. The characters, the storylines, and my love of Sally Field. It is a great show. And the fact that Kevin and Scottie are a gay couple like Keith and David on Six Feet Under: They have their own problems just like the other couples.
I watch it every Sunday, and look forward to it.

Same here. I love Sally Field and Rachel Griffiths. Field's periodic rants remind me of the Julia Sugarbaker character from Designing Women - you're just waiting for it to happen, and it never disappoints. I could do without Calista Flockhart, though. They should really have an episode where Nora straddles her and force feeds her a cheeseburger with her red wine.

Munson!!!! Let's be nice.
Most of my female friends detest Calista as a billboard for eating disorders. I just think Harrison Ford like his women thin!

I couldn't help but hit the Back button on my DVR and enjoy for a 2nd time the slap Nora gave Tommy!!!
As for the Justin character, I just don't get him. He's weak, boring, and completely tragic. He should have stepped in to help Rebecca and told Tommy to f**k off. As always, Tommy was being an ass. If you care about somebody, you don't let anyone run over your significant other, regardless if it's a family member doing it. His lame excuse to Rebecca that "we weren't going to get involved" is just complete BS. Tommy was railing against Holly right in front of Rebecca. Are we supposed to believe that Justin would have stayed quiet if someone started spouting insults about Nora? Please...Justin needs to grow a pair...and quit being such a pushover.

You called it Jeff, but to me there are only 2 stories one can tell and they've been told over and over since the Torah/Bible/Koran stole plots from Gilgamesh. But it's still fun to watch this version. And the new Walker is cute in that Jared Leto insecure goth with big penis who is a gentle top sort of way...
I agree on Justin being a lame ass wimp. He doesn't deserve Rebecca. But he is consistent. I hope him going to medical school will help. Tommy basically calling Rebecca and Holly whores was too crazy. I liked Sally Field the entire episode. The scene with she and Saul where she said she came out of her closet but chided him for still living in his was like daaaamn!!!! Major payoff for viewers who've watched the show for 3 years and know the subtext. And Rob Lowe cried real tears at the end. I agree with Maryland T, the past two weeks have been superb, great writing, great drama, great fun. Surprising that it's not November or May sweeps. Definite good times.
Although I will say that if Ryan were Latino or Asian I would have been thrilled.

totally agree, dfw, the way Justin hung Rebecca out to dry was as lame as lame gets. And if the only reason the writers broke them up was to introduce Ryan into a love triangle ... eeeewwwwww. Something about this Ryan character gives me the creeps. Maybe it's the aching-to-be-goth-but-too-much-of-a-wimp-to-try thing, maybe it's the way he moved in on Rebecca before the body was even cold ... I don't know, but Ryan makes my skin crawl.

Why all the Hater-ade? I think Ryan looks hot. He only seems creepy because he's misunderstood. Perhaps Emo is a better word for it.

After two drama filled weeks of Brothers and Sisters I thought it was actually kind of nice to see a laid back kind of show this week. Others I talked to said it was boring but I rather enjoyed it. Plus it sets us up for upcoming episodes looking into whether or not Daddy Walker (who clearly wasn't shit) ended up causing Ryan's mother to commit suicide. Or, was it more sinister?
While Nora can be a pain, a mother knows her child and she is dead on about Kitty. I mean come on...you drove all the way from Santa Barbara because the little one was a bit colicky??? Riiiiiiiighhhht.

The three brothers on Spring Break (albeit unintentionally) was pretty damn funny, especially the girls talking about how hot it would be for Kevin to make out with the shot boy. Tommy's abrupt departure is likely controversial, but I loved it. It'll be very interesting whether Balthazar Getty gets back in the good graces of the powers that be. Even if his character is boring, an MIA Walker just doesn't seem right.

I agree Terp, it was a nice change of pace. I will totally trip if William killed Ryan's mom. Kitty shutting down with Robert rang true for me, having seen a few familial relationships go by the waste side and thinking about my own behavior in past breakups. Tommy leaving I thought was cool; it's not often that you get drama off set that makes a character leave the show. Y&R is good about killing people off and forcing change, but most night time shows don't do it. LA Law was cool in this way too because people kept leaving to make movies. I'm thinking that Kevin and Scottie are going to hit some bumps in the road sooner than later because they aren't having sex. Appointment sex is crazy. But in my 30s I know a lot of couples who do it. Never thought I'd see the day.
