It's been a while since I posted here but I wanted to sadly inform anyone who was not already aware that Bill Darwin (billsf was his member name on this board) passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Most of my communication with Bill came from his role as commissioner of the Outsports Fantasy Baseball League for the past 7 years but he has been an active member of this site virtually since its inception and he will be missed.

Deepest condolences go out to Bill's partner, Tony Miranda, along with all the family members, friends and those in the Outsports community who came in contact with Bill over the years. May he rest in peace.

I didn't know Bill well, but I did play in his CBS Sports Baseball league the past two seasons. He was an excellent commissioner and always very kind and helpful when I had a last minute lineup adjustment or clarification on CBS scoring system.

I'll miss playing in he league next season. He made for very fun and friendly competition.

That is so very sad. Do you have any more information? How can we send Tony our best wishes? Where can we read an obituary? Thanks for letting us know. He obviously touched many people on here.

Bill and Tony were kind enough to give me an extra ticket they had to a Giants/Dodgers game a few years back while I was visiting SF. Hubby and I were able to meet them at a game more recently and have dinner near the ballpark afterwards. Both were so nice to me/us. My condolences go out to Tony and everyone who knew Bill. sad.gif
