Went to my first one of the year last night, and when I got there, I discovered that I was wearing the exact same costume as my best friend (straight guy). The only difference is that his makeup was better than mine! tongue.gif
His wife swears that we are secretly married....

Pretty funny...
Anyone going to any interesting parties this year?

And you went as...? Don't leave us hanging, MiamiSpartan.

Haven't dressed up in a very long time, but there are a few times I haven't forgotten...

1. Juan Peron...Dyed my hair black, wore a top coat and tails, blue sash, and looking for Evita! tongue.gif

2. The pope...Blessed a bar with gin and tonics! laugh.gif

3. Argyle Man...Don't ask! biggrin.gif

4. College QB...Met up with a tight end and scored seven ways to Sunday! Also got goosed more times than I care to remember! ohmy.gif

Went to my first one last Saturday (25th). My friend hosted it at her and her husband's house. The most interesting part of the night was not any of the costumes, but rather the husband's brother wanting to play "Doctor" with me. I had gotten a vibe from this supposed "ladies man" before. I clearly saw him looking at my ass once before and he always finds a way to touch me either on the shoulders or the back. Needless to say, I set him "straight" really quickly because I have a man and it would not have been a good scene had my hot blooded Dominican papi walked in on him trying to make a pass at me.

Of course next day he apologized and played the old "I had too much to drink" card. But, he never got into the "I'm not gay" speech. He did ask that I not mention it to anyone, and I told him it would be just between he and I. I also told him that if he ever wanted to talk to me about anything he is dealing with he is more than welcome to. Now of course I told my man because we don't keep secrets from each other. But, he's certainly not intimidated by the guy and apparently had his suspicions about him too. So as far as I'm concerned its squashed.

ANYWHO...I went as a pimp. Oh my god I was so over the top. I had this whole leopard ensemble with leopard hat with a straight black wig underneath the hat. I had all this "bling" and my pimp cane and pimp cup, and leopard platforms. That was fun.

Going to another one on Friday and Saturday. Friday I am going as Barack Obama and one of my female friends is going as Michelle Obama. Saturday I will be dressed back as the pimp.

Next year's Halloween will probably the biggest I will ever do Halloween in awhile in terms of money spent on a costume. One of my really good friend's birthday is October 31, and he is having a 40th Halloween/Bday party next year. He wants to do a greek theme so I want to have a really hot custom made Achilles/300 type costume made. I'm gonna have to step up my ab game though. Right now I'm satisfied with just a flat stomach. I don't feel like doing the work necessary to have a washboard stomach. I am part puerto rican and my boyfriend is Dominican. We like rice and beans too much. But, I'm gonna have to get with that program probably 6 months before the party to really get abbed up!! Can't wait. Halloween is really becoming expensive the older I get.

I LOVE Halloween. I don't think this costume will top my Hello Kitty costume from a couple of years ago, but it's a costume that I've had int he back of my mind for a couple of years.

I am once again going with friends to a Seattle fundraiser called "The Bump". This year, the event is moving from the Experience Music Project at Seattle Center to one of the Piers on the waterfront.

One of my friends is dressing up as YouTube "Shoes" Kelly, another is going as a scary scarecrow come to life and I am going as the King of the Se(a)Men. Basically, I am half man, half fish. I made a really cool fish tail which will belt to my waist. I also have metallic blue shorts over black tights, and took an old Mr. Fantastic costume and modified it to fit an underwater theme. A glitter trident, a mask and crown (since I am a *cough Cough* "king") top off the costume. And because I needed flare, instead of black boots, I am wearing 4" heel glitter boots. Should be a very fun event.

Fabulous!

Depending on if I can get the time to get it together tomorrow, I'm dressing up as Ed Hochuli (inadvertent whistles and all)

I wanted to go as Amy Winehouse, but I don't have the hair...or the drug problem.

I'm just doing the Block Party right in front of my office on Church Street here in Toronto. Just heading out now. They've set up a DJ on the deck in front of our building with enough speakers to blow the windows out - I swear. My desk is vibrating as I type this. They've got another stage set up about two blocks up the street.

And man - has Mother Nature ever cooperated. Two nights ago my 2.5km bike ride home from work was terrible - with howling freezing cold winds blowing ice pellets in my face. It hurt like hell and I was so cold I was numb! Tonight just 48 hours later this Gay Zorro is about to hit the streets and the only things howling will be the scary creatures running about. The nearly 8PM temperature in 'Cold Canada' - 16C or 61F. Gotta luv it!

Happy Halloween!

Just when I thought I wasn't going to dress up, I had a brain wave at lunch time and raced around the downtown mall collecting the necessary items:

A black shirt, A white tie, A pink cowboy hat with rhinestones, a magic wand, a gun et voila!

I'm a fairy godfather.

I went down to Church St. after the Raptors game. I met up with Ed13 who was in town. (Eddie says Hi! to the Outsporters he knows.) Well, all those prognostications that Church St. would be full of men in Sarah Palin drag turned out to be false. I think I saw one woman dressed as Palin, that's it.

We were there too, dressed as doctor (him) and patient (me).

Not going out for Halloween this year. Tried to make some Halloween cupcakes. First, used a box of chocolate cake mix that had an expiry date of August... 2008(!) Then tried to make orange icing with yellow and red food colouring, but it turned out salmon pink(!) I tried to salvage this by decorating with orange, yellow and brown Reece's Pieces.

(Really, for someone who's watched the Food Channel since it first went on the air. Someone who loves Martha and Julia and all those cooking shows... my standards for baking have fallen. sad.gif )

CBS News: "Naked Pumpkin Run" Photos: Colorado Streakers Go Nude in Mad Halloween Dash

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Boulder police chief is trying to put a stop to the seasonal streaking. How dare he?! tongue.gif

QUOTE
But last year the run attracted more than 150 participants, and Police Chief Mark Beckner fears things are getting out of hand. "It's a free-for-all," he says.

So he intends to stop it.

He will station more than 40 officers on the traditional four-block route tonight, with two SWAT teams patrolling nearby. All have orders to arrest gourd-topped streakers as sex offenders.

I agree, how dare he! tongue.gif

...The bf & I decide to go to the annual WeHo Halloween "Carnaval" bash. We had a great time. I hadn't been to it in years & he had never been. So it was fun to watch his eyes become bigger & bigger as the night went on & 500k revelers started streaming in (that's the official # according to this mornings news. But they were expecting 400k). We got there around 5 pm & stopped for a bit to watch some games @ Gym. Then we went strolling around & barhopping. It was certainly a lot more fun when it was a predominantly glbt event (the costumes were a lot more daring & creative) years ago but it still was fun. I also thought of this thread & thought "well I guess this is progress since the majority of people that were out were straight (many w/ their kids) & they invaded the very heart of "boys town" & were out to have a great time." Oh & btw, since the boyfriend & I rarely show public affection for obvious reasons last night was different. We gave a rats ass about holding hands, hugging, or giving a peck here & there. I told him, "F**k it! They're invading our town so they best get used to seeing glbt couples displaying affection 'round here." He agreed. biggrin.gif
