Some of the issues between the two camps is beginning to emerge. One thing that really sticks out in my mind is her lack of knowledge, period. She did not know the countries involved in NAFTA. So in other words, she did not know what 3 countries are in North America. She also reportedly did not know if Africa is a country or a continent. As incredible as that sounds. We also know she asked to speak at McCains final concession speech but was denied. Newsweek is the source for alot of these Palin issues that are now surfacing. There will be more that comes out....

As amusing as I find some of these charges it really is bad form. The people knocking dingbat are the same ones who helped select her.
I find the arguement being put forward by Conservatives in the party that it was the moderates in the GOP that caused the GOP to lose the election far more interesting.
TRL
If it is the GOP that is tamping her down, either with fact or innuendo, my thought is, they want her to go away FOREVER. They don't want a revival of "Sarah Palin". They can't trust her any more than an arctic fox. I for one, think she might not be very well informed, but I do believe she is a quick study. She demonstrated that she sure could rant and rage. The GOP must stomp her out of commission before any notion of a return in 2012.

But honestly, I don't think she was the ultimate drag on the Republican Party. With the help of the GOP, McCain did himself in, using smug-ugly politics at the end.

That said, she just may find her way into the US Senate, which would be BAD for everybody. Unless of course, she can be converted to a DEM. Not likely.

I don't think she's a quick study at all. A governor of a U.S. state who does not know which countries make up North America is not a quick study. A woman in her mid-40s who was seeking the 2nd highest office in the land, yet didn't know Africa was a continent is not a quick study.

I see Palin as someone who rose to the position of Governor of Alaska based on a very thin resume and very little knowledge of the nation or the world around her. It was only two weeks ago when she was in New Hampshire and told the crowd that it was really nice to be in the "Pacific Northwest." It got little media coverage. She can't identify a newspaper or periodical she reads. She was clueless when it came to the Bush doctrine. She apparently refused to do any studying for her Katie Couric interview even though the McCain camp was pushing her to do so. She was speaking to a radio personality with a bad accent who described seeing her in the porn flick "Nailing Palin" and she truly thought she was speaking to Sarkozy.

She's an idiot. I can see why the Repugs are trying to tear her down. They don't want her to be the face of the party because they know they will lose seats again in 2010 and 2012. I don't feel sorry for her at all. She was a dumb V.P. pick and she used the McCain folks as much as they used her. She has gamed the system her whole life.

I think the infighting in the GOP is hysterical. I hope it leads to a full-blown schism between the "moderates" and the ultra-right nutjobs.

I could never forgive The Palins for bringing shame upon The Beverly Hillbillies, my favorite comedy of all time.

Unless it inspires the re-broadcast of some of my favorite episodes with Max Baer in those tight jeans.

I've really had it with Palin Derangement Syndrome. All these Palin tall tales (didn't know Africa was a continent, couldn't name the nations of NAFTA, answered the door wearing only a towel) are completely unsubstantiated stories being leaked anonymously by ex-McCain staffers who are desperately trying to scapegoat Sarah Palin to distract attention from their own failings. The McCain campaign was a MESS. His campaign staff would have found it difficult to find new work in any case. But these dumbsh*ts seem to have forgotten that with political staffs, loyalty to the boss is everything. Now, instead of covering their a$$es, McCain ex-staffers have pretty much obliterated their chances of future employment in this field. What goes around comes around.

You liberals just don't quit, do you? The stories that Trig was really Bristol's child, that Palin tried to ban books, and that Palin wanted Alaska to secede from the union (and so many others) were all debunked. That they spread as widely and wildly as they did is sorry evidence of just how out of control the Palin haters are. Yet that doesn't stop you liberals from spreading this latest round of pernicious bullsh*t.

This is just more proof positive of liberal bigotry. If a liberal woman/black/gay/Muslim/fill-in-the-oppressed-group-here politician were being smeared with equally nasty lies by the right, you liberals would be hysterically screeching SEXISM! RACISM! HOMOPHOBIA! HATE! Because liberals, in all their infinite hypocrisy, believe that some groups deserve to be treated as human beings, with fairness, decency, and compassion, while other groups (Christians, Catholics, pro-lifers, conservatives, Republicans, basically anyone they disagree with -- oooh, now that's tolerance for ya!) deserve to be treated with naked scorn. This bigoted nastiness isn't just acceptable in liberal circles, it is flat-out glorified. Yet you liberals, in all your infinite delusion, will persist in the belief that you are the enlightened ones, so beautifully evolved and free of all prejudice, bigotry, and hate. Bloated with smug self-congratulations, you will continue to sneer at us benighted conservatives/pro-lifers/Republicans/etc.

Yeah, you just keep thinkin' that.

CNN's Campbell Brown ripped into those McCain aides who are trying to tear Palin down. After all, they were the people who propped her up in the first place.

QUOTE
Which is why I find it so stunning that the very people who introduced us to Sarah Palin... who told us she would make a great Vice President... have now turned on her with a vengeance. They are the top advisors to John McCain's failed campaign and they are desperate right now to find someone to blame for their long long list of mistakes. They have been launching grenades at Palin and her supporters... some of their allegations we at CNN have found to be patently false. You will hear people say "this is what always happens with a losing campaign"... and hopefully, this is the last time we will be talking about these people. But what they have done just in the last few days to save their own skins is worth a final comment.

To those top McCain advisors who leaked the little story about seeing Sarah Palin in a towel. To those who called her and her family "Wasilla Hillbillies" while using her to stoke class warfare with redmeat speeches and an anti-elitist message. To those who claim she didn't know Africa was a continent. To those McCain aides who say she is the reason they lost this election... can I please remind you of one thing: you picked her.

You are the ones who supposedly vetted her, and then told the American people she was qualified for the job. You are the ones who after meeting her a couple of times, told us she was ready to be just one heartbeat away from the Presidency. If even half of what you say NOW is true, then boy, did you try to sell the American people a bill of goods. If Sarah Palin is the reason some voters chose Barack Obama, that is no one's fault but your own. John McCain, as he so graciously said himself the other night, lost this election. He lost it with your help, your advice, your guidance, and yes, your running mate recommendations. And that is crystal clear to everyone, no matter how hard you try to blame Sarah Palin or anyone else.

Much as I hate to agree with BoSoxRudy in a political thread, I have to admit I'm skeptical that Palin was really as ignorant as the stories coming out now suggest. And if she was, well...McCain and his advisors must be just as stupid.

But before you blame the "liberal media", note that this has been reported by Fox News as well.

It's not the media's fault if people have the urge to air out their dirty laundry in public. Do you really expect them not to tell the story if they have reason to think the source is reliable?

But of course, you conservatives love to play up how you're victimized by the media.

I doubt Sarah Palin is ignorant, I just don't believe she was qualified yet enough for the position.

I said the same thing about Barack Obama when he first announced his candidacy. However, he has had 2 years to study and learn national and international issues in order to be able to understand and integrate them into his policies.

Palin had only weeks to do the same and it wasn't fair to her. They should have selected another female candidate with experience at this level and it would have been a much better opportunity for the Republicans.

Although I despise several of her opinions, I think she is now being made out to be the scapegoat of the loss or order to maintain the legacy of McCain's history.

She is likely going to get an opportunity to nominate someone to replace Ted Stevens, who will probably be required to step down from his Senate position.... will she have the balls to nominate herself? her husband? It will definitely be someone hardcore right.
millerbeach
Hey BoSox, are you still choking every time you say "President-Elect Obama"? Thought so. Worry not, you'll get over it in three or four years. Sarah Palin is as dumb as a box of rocks. No, that would be an insult to rocks. She was in way over her head, and she had no business running for the position. It seems as though every time she opened her mouth, something ignorant would come out. She seems to be missing certain "filters" that more intelligent people use when speaking in public. Why is everyone coming down on her so hard? Because she represents one of the most hypocritical parties of politics. She has absolutely no credibility. She does not know basic facts about this nation and the world. She was prepped horribly for the national apprearances on the major networks. She was misguided into hiding from the media, except for controlled, scripted appearances. She was totally out-of-touch with anyone who ever drank a six-pack. In a nutshell, she was a phoney shill for the Republican party, which horribly back-fired.
Joe in Philly
It became pretty obvious that she was not remotely qualified for the job, which is part of the reason why America rejected her and her party so resoundingly.

The circumstancial evidence that was accumulated regarding the baby is pretty convincing. I haven't seen anything debunking that story, actually. It's been denied. That's not the same as proven to be wrong.

As for the books, even the truth that came out -- that she merely asked the city librarian about the possibility of removing some books -- is utterly despicable.

And the fact that her husband used to be part of a nutjob party that wants Alaska to secede from the union, and that just 6 months before becoming the VP nominee she spoke via video to that nutjob's convention via video, told them to "keep up the good work" and called it an "inspiring convention"? Just as bizarre, and still more proof that Sarah Palin is one of the most unqualified candidates ever. Even more unqualified than Quayle or Duhbya, which is pretty hard to do.

mdterp01
OH BoSox....welcome to how we "liberals" have felt for the past 8 years. One election that was obviously stolen and another one that used the issue of boys kissing as a way to create a deeper divide in terms of the so called "culture war". You and Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly and the rest of your ilk can defend Sarah Palin all you want and drool about how you want her to be the future of the Republican party. If that happens, the Republican party is in big trouble. Whats amazing to me is that for a party that hinges on conservatism, the Republican party has done so piss poor in including many blacks and hispanics who are historically culturally conservative. Republicans want small government and don't like giving money to social programs which the aforementioned groups need. If they were a bit more sensitive to that, the Republican party could have truly gone back to its roots of Lincoln and the many blacks who were Republicans in the 1800s. I don't know where Republicans went wrong but you'll f*cked up royally.

Instead you've got GOPers who sell buttons at your little conventions that say "So if Obama wins will we have to call it "The Black House", or you've got GOPers who use his middle name as a way to insinuate that he's in some kind of sleeper cell, or you've got GOPers who put his face on welfare money with watermelon and chicken wings, or you've Palin talking about "the real America", or some other GOPer saying "the real Virginia" (i.e. the part that doesn't include those "damned liberals" in Northern Virginia). Colin Powell said it best in that the Republican party is so narrow. It is not inclusive at all. You look into McCain's crowds and all I saw was a sea of white faces. You look into Obama's crowd and you see the melting pot that truly represents America.

Now granted, I think some of the comments about Palin are in poor taste. Loyalty is very important to me so these "leaks" from these "anonymous" sources are just bad. HOWEVER, that woman was NOT qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Even if a few of the things that have been said about her are true, she remains a DINGBAT!! Forgive me however if I am not shedding tears for Sarah Palin. She had a choice to deny McCain's offer for VP. She chose not to, and became involved in the most closely watched presidential campaign in history. I do believe some of these stories coming out though. This is a woman that we have on tape saying she has foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from Alaska. This is a woman who believed that the Vice President had a big legislative role in the Senate. Umm..no darling. If you were paying attention in middle school history, you would've known that. So I'm not so sure that these stories are so far fetched.

Look...ultimately this all falls on McCain's shoulders. He tried the hail mary pass game changer and it blew up in his face. I feel that for someone whose campaign slogan was "Country First" it was a DANGEROUS pick. I was on hiphoprepublican.com reading some of comments from its members on Obama's sweeping win. They said that the Republican party does need to go back to its roots and that they need to let people know that Karl Rove does not speak for them. That whole wing of the Republican party is so divisive. This country is changing more and more by the year. So you know every four years there are going to be people eligible to vote who are more accepting of homosexuality, race, and don't believe that gov't should have their noses in my bedroom. Whoopi Goldberg said it best this morning on The View about the whole gay marriage debate. If you don't like gay marriage then don't marry a gay person. You want the Huckabees and Palins of the world to be the future of your party? Go for it. You dare insinuate that liberals don't think their shit stinks, yet the Republican party has always walked around with their noses in the air with the belief that if you don't share our values you are going to burn in hell. I'm sick of that kind of divisiveness. Now I consider myself more of a moderate Democrat because while I support gay marriage and am pro choice, I don't believe in gun control or big government. But there's no way in hell I could even consider being part of a political party with nuts like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan, Sean Hannity, Karl Rove, and Sister Sarah Palin. There's crazies on the left and crazies on the right. We can at least agree on that. But, if the Republicans don't find a way to stop the culture war mentality they have, you'll will be permanently doomed. The 40 and under group ain't having it, and even the culturally black and hispanic groups will not vote for Republican leaders.

We don't need the big bad MSM media to tell us that Palin is a little short on brains, we've all SEEN it for ourselves over and over again. She makes the case all by herself. Frankly, it is just HIGH comedy. Rarely do I get a good laugh at a politician at their own expense, but Palin just keeps on serving it up.

Yes, by all means foist Sarah Soundbite as the new leader, lord and saviour of the GOP because I look forward to seeing the Democrats capitalize on that folly. Bring it!

I have a hard time believing that the McCain people are making up out and out lies, so I think there is some or possibly a LOT of truth in these stories. They may have a right to cover their own asses since she was pretty much the final nail in that coffin of a campaign. She accepted "without blinking". She might consider blinking next time instead of winking.

BoSox, your outrage seems to be a little over the top. If you keep that shit up, you're in for a really rough 4 to 8 years. Your admonishments ring hollow with me and certainly don't dampen the jubilation that I have that this country just elected Barack Obama (in a LANDSLIDE) as President of the United States of America. Yes we did!

We're watching the GOP cannabilize itself right now and it ain't us mean old liberals causing it. It's not even those meany MSM types having to report on it....it's frickin' FoxNews which is just icing on the cake in my book. You might want to direct some of those angry diatribes at the real culprits which happens to include your precious Sarah Palin, not to mention George W. Bush (it's a shame that Ann Richards and Molly Ivins didn't live to see what W did to the GOP "brand" we all know and love today).
BoSoxRudy
First of all, I don't hold the members of this board responsible for the MSM's disgusting rejection of journalistic principles during the 2008 campaign. When I said "you liberals," I was referring specifically to the members of this board. Nasty cracks like Palin thinking Africa's a country aren't harmless jokes. Knowingly disseminating falsehoods about a person just to tear them down is pernicious. And to blithely keeping doing so just because the person being denigrated is of a particular demographic is indeed a display of bigotry. But it's bigotry that has the full blessing of Liberal Groupthink Headquarters because the person being denigrated is someone LGH doesn't like. So by some Orwellian twist, bigotry toward certain groups isn't bigotry, it's good citizenship. You liberals are every bit as bigoted as those hillbillies and rednecks you deludedly believe you're so superior to. But you're such sheep that you believe to your very core that your bigotry is A-OK because Liberal Groupthink Headquarters tells you it's OK.

Umm...how on earth would any of us be in a position to know if this is true or false? While I have said I am skeptical that anyone could become governor without such basic geographic information, I know from surveys that if Palin thinks Africa is a country, she has plenty of company. The only one knowingly distributing falsehoods if it's false, is somebody in McCain's camp--and probably not a liberal.

The rumors are that a lot of these Palin stories are being circulated by Romney's people. It makes sense. There is certainly going to be a fight between both of them to be the face of the Repugnant party in 2012. I'm guessing neither of them emerges and some other loser will try to ascend to the throne. It is downright hilarious to see their party in shambles.

BoSoxInWad, I don't think I'm superior to Palin, she's just not Presidential material intellectually and a LOT of us disagree with her politics (most especially her desire to outlaw the possibility that any of us can marry). I've been with my partner for 23 years and I'm thinking we've earned a little respect as far as rights go.

Palin talking about "the real America"

So the last couple of days I've watched that "Countdown" show with Keith Olbermann, and I have to admit it's highly entertaining, and he's clearly having fun with the GOP meltdown. Anyway, from the show last night I learned an interesting tidbit. That county where Palin made those "real America" remarks?

Obama won that county.

It's interesting how what's being said about Palin is believable even if it turns out to be false. If someone said the same thing about Hillary Clinton or Christine Gregoire or Barbara Boxer they'd be laughed at and it would die there.

I like repeating these accusations to give the conservatives and Republicans a taste of their own medicine. After all wasn't Rush still casting doubts on President elect Obama's birth certificate up until the end?

And, you gotta admit that someone who says "I can see Russia from my house" as a measure of her foreign policy experience is setting themself up for ridicule as it's ridiculous.

The four things I love about this weekend:

1) Obama won

2) College Football

3) News coverage had dropped off significantly.

4) Palin is back in Alaska where her stupid ass belongs.

Regarding #4,

Come on people. She is probably one of the dumbest if not dumbest governors of a state in the history of America. Think about this. Alaskans just elected FELON to the Senate. That's all anyone needs to know about Alaska politics. What makes you think they value intelligence, substance, or common sense. They don't. Alaska is basically a welfare state that is dependant on oil. It's remote and isolated from mainstream America. Alaskans have low standards for the people they elect.

No one feel sorry for this bimbo. She attacked Obama for being a community organizer, stated he pals around with terrorists, didn't correct crowds yelling "get him" or " kill him", or "terrorist", and the comments about "real" America. The last comments really bothered me. Look at this bimbo. Before this election, she had never been to Washington DC, just recently got a passport, and had lived all her life in Idaho and Alaska without ever traveling from those two states. What the hell does she know about America?

It's a classic case of the Republican mantra of if you are white then you have a copyright on assessing what is real America even if you have lived in Alaska your entire life like Palin.

Alaska is basically a welfare state that is dependant on oil. It's remote and isolated from mainstream America. Alaskans have low standards for the people they elect.

I meet a lot of Alaskans here in Las Vegas (Alaskans and Hawaiians love Vegas - had no idea until I moved here). Usually just for brief pleasantries, sometimes for a drink or two, and a couple of times for a wild night on the town. The Alaskans I've met are very friendly (must be the isolation) wonderful people. I know from personal experience that they do actually value intelligence, substance, and common sense just as much as every other American. By the way, a huge amount of the federal and oil money goes directly to the native populations. It doesn't sound like a great situation, but we can discuss that in another thread. I do know that Alaskans appreciate their "free money" because the cost of living is so high. Everything's so expensive because the cost of distributing goods to such a sparse population scattered over a vast area is exorbitant (a gallon of gas is $1.00-$1.50 cheaper in Vegas than it is in Alaska!). Alaskans endure 60-below winters to keep the oilfields and the state as a whole running, and the oil companies (who aren't exactly hurting financially) kinda compensate them for their trouble. One hand washes the other, but it's unfair to call it a welfare state. Are they stupid just because they re-elected Stevens? No more stupid than the people of Detroit (Democrat Kwame Kilpatrick), Providence RI (Democrat Buddy Cianci), Louisiana (Democrat William Jefferson), and New Jersey (please don't ask me to name them all, but pretty sure they're all Democrats).

If I'm off-the-mark here, someone will surely let me know, but IMO, wvderby's post is another bright, shining example of liberal bigotry. Because Alaskans' world-view doesn't dovetail with his, wvderby feels free to say horrible things about Alaskans based on sketchy-at-best arguments. He would never draw such ugly conclusions about people he agreed with, but armed with the Liberal Groupthink Headquarters Seal of Approval, he feels free to defecate all over Alaskans. If the liberals on this board had any principles, others besides me would condemn wvderby's bigotry. I shan't hold my breath.

As much as facts that contradict what you'd like to think can be so darn annoying sometimes, I do feel the need to say that Governor Palin is very well informed on the situation in Darfur (the crisis in Darfur is of great concern to the evangelical community). So yeah, it's safe to assume - contrary to mdterp's wisecracks - that she knows Africa is a continent, not a country.

BoSox,

You're way off the mark regarding Palin and Alaska.

She is a complete embarrassment to the American political process. If I were a conservative, I would suggest finding a new role model championing your ideology. If she is the face of conservative America, I am happy. Why? It's much like the bridge and road to nowhere. Of course, it only makes sense why conservatives are defending her ignorance, lack of intelligence, and campaign performance. The GOP/Conservative put her on a pedestal. You did so without knowing anything about her. It was a gimmick play. America caught on a week or so after her introduction when it was evident she was going to be forced down the throats of America through propoganda.

Take all these into account:

" Thanks but no thanks for the bridge to nowhere", " I see Russia out of my window", " Earmarks" , " Abuse of power", " Real America comments", " 200k plus spent on clothing", "Africa is a continent?", " Can't name a supreme court decision", " What does the VP do", " Stuttering on basic questions", " Calling Afghanistan Generals by the wrong name 3 times in the VP debate", " "The winking", "20k in unauthorized flights on her family", " Selling the Alaska jet on Ebay", " Paling around with terrorists", " attacking community organizing", and alot more.

Of course the conservatives are going to continue to defend this embarrassing American figure. They threw her at the American people and attempted to put lipstick on her and make project her as s some action figure hero, but the reality is she is nothing special and in many ways less than average. It's Mccain's fault, Palin's fault for playing the gig, and especially the conservative base who drank the kool aid.

Would the party of Ted Stevens, Larry Craig, and Sarah Palin please stand up.

Speaking of Limbaugh, that right-wing nutjob has really fallen off his rocker. They should put that megalomaniac in a looney bin. He's now calling our current economic crisis "Obama's recession." I think the McCain people who've tried to smear Sarah Palin are pretty disgusting. Clearly they picked her not caring about her ability and thinking she would be completely pliable. She wasn't what they expected in either area, but maybe they shouldn't have picked her the VP slot after just a cursory 40-minute interview.

As for Palin, she was not qualified to be VP on Day One, and the argument that she was more qualified than Obama on Day One was bizarre, as well as completely transparent. She is obviously underinformd about world events, as well as US politics. But I think you underestimate her at your own risk. In 1976 people thought Ronald Reagan was a buffoon, and he wound winning two elections by huge margins and being a tranformational president. I don't think Palin will ever match Reagan's greatness, but she does have a lot going for her in addition to her obvious drawbacks.

I do think she is a quick study - you don't keep advancing in politics if you're not. I think she probably learned her lesson with the Couric interviews and will never forego preparation again. Also, there is no denying that she connects with a large segment of the electorate. There are many people who earn barely middle class livings, have no post-high school education, have never left the US and have no interest in doing so, and are repulsed by our abortion laws. That's certainly some 35 - 40% of the population at large; if Palin can learn more about basic foreign policy and economic precepts she can expand that base and be a very viable candidate. I don't think 2012 is realistic for her, but I think she knows that and in her mind it's all about 2016.

Palin gave the media and the world the ammunition they have been so gleefully using against her this whole time. So much of the stupid stuff she has done or said has been caught on video. One thing she "said" that I have to point out as not being fact is the "I can see Russia from my house" line. While she said something vaguely similar (but not nearly THAT stupid), the line is actually attributed to Tina Fey playing Palin on SNL. I have had more than one conversation with various people who think she actually said those words herself, which in itself is pretty damned funny.

I actually agree that the anonymous critics of Palin are gutless wonders. As one pundit on Rachel Maddow's show noted, they are only protecting themselves. They are certainly not helping either McCain or the GOP generally to circulate yet more stories of the Governor's lack of preparedness.

My personal belief is that Palin, like George Bush II, is not stupid - that is, neither of them lack the capacity for education. Rather both Palin and Bush are, perhaps more dangerously, willfully ignorant. They do not see the value or benefit of education, particularly where it might interfere with their worldviews (remember Bush's famous boast that he didn't read newspapers). All of Palin's misstatements, not to mention her idiotic decision to take the alleged call from the French President w/out vetting it through the McCain people, derive from this ignorance.

As for the cries of SEXISM eminating from Palin's camp, particularly over the clothing issue - well, I'm calling bullsh*t on that one. It is not sexist to question a public official's decision to enrich herself from the public trough, whether that is through billing the state for nights you spend at home, for travel for your children, or by bilking the RNC out of thousands for clothes for yourself and your family (really, a seven-year-old needs a Louis Vitton bag?). It was not what she bought people had a problem with, it is was the amount she spent and the way we now know she went about it.

Palin's attributes are charm, telegenism/photogenism, charisma especially with public crowds, physical attractiveness, and a certain ruthlessness that becomes clear if you've read anything about her record in Alaska.

Her detriments are her willful ignorance, Biblical literalism, low intellectual curiosity and acuity, and pathological lying. This woman lied for two or three straight weeks without ever blinking, though she winked like there was no tomorrow. I kept wondering when the facade would crack, but for most of the campaign it didn't, and then towards the very end she ceased the lies and started talking off the cuff, which upset the McCain camp something terrible.

I agree that the anonymous cowards who've attacked her ought to be ashamed, but what do you expect? These are the same scumbags who worked under Bush-Cheney, and some of them were involved in smearing McCain in 2000 or linked to people who were. So McCain made his bed and has to lie in it. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. He proved that he is about as disgusting as they come. Thank God the majority of voters rejected his and Palin's candidacies.

The media has invaded Alaska and Palin is on overtime giving interviews.

Greta Van Susteren was actually asking her questions while she prepared moose meat in her own kitchen. Palins answers didn't make any sense to me. Something about Palin pulling back the skin and slicing like that made me want to protect my family jewels. I can't wait to see Tina Fey revive that for SNL.

I was really hoping that we wouldn't see Palin for a while because she scares me. Someone so obviously ignorant of America while thinking they are Gods chosen one really frightens me.

It will be interesting and perhaps frightful to see the outcome of the Ted Stevens recount. I believe all of the votes will be tallied today. If he wins this could be the open door that could send her to Washington as a senator.

Please let the Democrats take this race and send her back to school to learn about World and US History.

The Times of London described her as sounding like Yoda auditioning for Star Wars.

Awww...Sister Sarah is now saying she would be honored to help President-elect Barack Obama in his new administration if asked, even if he did once hang around with an "unrepentant domestic terrorist."

Sweetheart....Obama wants NO PARTS of you ok!! He will have smart people in his cabinet. He is not trying to surround himself with people who don't know Africa is a continent. So just stay up in Alaska and keep making moose chili in your 3 piece suits, and be "mavericky" and continue fighting to "stop the corruption" up there. Please. I can't stand her.
TheOtherFSU
Sarah didn't want to ever be interviewed by the "gotcha" media while she was running for VP, but now she just won't go away. Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota was one of those today who seems to be biting his tongue and saying stuff like, "Well it does seem a bit premature for her to be talking about 2012," when asked about Palin. I'm sure behind the scenes he's giving a bit more candid version of, "Shut the hell up, lady."

And after watching bits of Sarah talking to Greta Van Susteren, all I could think was, "Isn't a facelift supposed to make a person look better?" Based on that mug, Greta needs about a year of sleep.

Now she looks like the love child of KD Lang and Nancy Grace.

How about this tongue-twister of a sentence:
QUOTE
BLITZER: Another question. What are your new ideas on how to take the Republican Party out of this rut that it's in right now? Give me one or two new ideas that you're going to propose to these governors who have gathered here in this hotel.

PALIN: Well, a lot of Republican governors have really good ideas for our nation because we're the ones there on the front lines being held accountable every single day in service to the people whom have hired us in our own states and the planks in our platform are strong and they are good for America. It's all about free enterprise and respecting the ...

BLITZER: Does that mean you want to come up with a new Sarah Palin initiative that you want to release right now.

PALIN: Gah! Nothing specific right now. Sitting here in these chairs that I'm going to be proposing but in working with these governors who again on the front lines are forced to and it's our privileged obligation to find solutions to the challenges facing our own states every day being held accountable, not being just one of many just casting votes or voting present every once in a while, we don't get away with that. We have to balance budgets and we're dealing with multibillion dollar budgets and tens of thousands of employees in our organizations.

Best TV show ever...a quiz show pitting Bush and Palin. She makes Bushie seem like the head of MENSA.

She continues to dig a bigger hole for herself every time she speaks. Not only is Bush starting to look smarter, but so is Miss Teen South Carolina.

Palin's downward spiral continues within the Republican ranks. Now it's the GOP governors who are privately telling CNN that they are angered at the way Palin basically hijacked the national Republican Governors Conference and made it all about her.
Chill-Trick
Something has been biting at me for a few days....During one of her recent media whore tour, I can't remember which one it was...I think it was the one with Matt Lauer...., the answer she gave bugged me, but I can't remember if the response to would she run in '12 or would she appoint herself as a senator...but it doesn't matter, her hypocritical lying answer is what bugged me...

She's not worrying about that (which ever scenario it was) because she's in office now as Governor of the great state of Alaska and she's there to serve her people and she wants to serve out her term for the people.

Really? Is that why you wanted to ditch them and run for VP 4 seconds after you got into office?

Wow, I didn't think it could get any worse for the GOP after the 2008 elections. It was bad enough when some cowardly jerk ex-McCain staffer was leaking wild fabrications about Sarah Palin to a reporter. That's just a (few?) loser(s) desperate to find a scapegoat to distract from their own pathetic failures (the McCain campaign was the worst-run I've ever seen). But OMG, now Republican governors are anonymously backbiting Sarah Palin, pouting because they didn't get enough attention?? Don't these dimwits realize that they've just brought themselves down to the same cowardly jerk level as the anonymous McCain staffer(s)??? The really sad thing is that half these guys want to run for president themselves in 2012. I guess they'll be running on a platform of gallantry.
millerbeach
Personally, I'd be thrilled if she ran, and won the nomination for the Republican party in 2012. The debates alone would be comical. Face it, she's an idiot air-head without an original thought.
