I don't watch football very often, but when I can, it always gets my attention. I don't know very much about it, but I thought I might be fun to have a PHX group do a game day at one of the sports bars in town.
I'm curious to see whether anyone else wants to do the same.

Update for anyone who's interested: there's four of us at the moment who will likely get-together next Sunday at Roscoe's. Please email me at smrobbins65@yahoo.com if you are interested in joining us. It's informal and such, so come if you like.

I do want to make sure that the four of us can hang comfortably, so I hope to hear from the other fellas about the timing. We CAN schedule it so nobody feels left out; i.e. another day, time, whatever.

You need PhillyFan to give you the X's and O's of the game. The dude knows his football (when you get past his blind-hatred of the Cowboys).

Sean, Please don't try and arrange things around me. I do not have your typical M/F job and work kinda crazy hours. I usually close on Sundays, but this next one I am working early and can make it about 4. Just intime to see the tail end of the late games and catch Sportscenter and get all the highlights from the games played already. See ya all there...Vince

So yeah, we are still on for tomorrow. I will be at Roscoe's on 7th at about 2pm, Sunday. I will be wearing an orange and blue striped rugby, and jeans. I wear glasses and have a black and grey goatee. I may have a good friend with me [haven't asked him yet], so look for a taller version of me as well, with bleach-blonde hair. (He's one of the funniest guys I know.)
2pm! Roscoe's on 7th! Very informal! Excited to meet you! Meatman, azairforceguy, asutad, and soccer guy (handle  ), and anyone else -- see you there.
(PhillyFan, you're welcome to come too. Haven't heard one way or another.

Just an update:
The plan for the Sunday get-together was a little disappointing simply because of circumstance. There was interest, and yet because of late-minute changes, two guys weren't able to make it --
which I completely understand. I was made aware of these complications by the guys themselves, and bear them no grudge. In fact, I did percieve the impression that there is interest in another get-together of a similar nature. I'm all for it.
On the other hand, I did get to chat for about an hour with Meatman as the football games wound down, and the WS started up. Nice guy, for those of you who have not yet met him. He filled me in on what his life has been like in the past few years, and I was glad he did. KUDOs to Meatman. It's interesting putting a face and personality to a name. So there you go. A good first start, and a recommendation to any of you fellas in your own areas. It's a good way to make the cyber less sterile.

Oh sorry there fella's... but well sundays are bad for me. I usually will hit the bar when the eagles are not on tv... but well i'm not quite the social butterfly (during the games), and would probably tell everyone to go @#$#%^$%^@#$! themselves if the eagles are doing badly.
Hope that makes sense to all...
Also 2pm is sorta a funky time to meet for football... the afternoon games are already like an hour into it...
but hey what do i know, it took everything i had not to throw a bottle at the tv last sunday... but i think you get kicked out for that stuff...

Might want to check up on the laws in Arizona, smrobbins65. Roscoe's is always open and serving by kickoff of the first game. And don't forget the $2 Bloody Mary Bar, $2 Jumbo Mimosas, and my personal favorite $7 Pitchers of Long Island Ice Tea.
And a word of warning, please stay out of my way on the roadways after my second pitcher! eek!

They have always been open, even at 10am games... which is where i was on that fateful sunday...
Actually, i barely converse with my friends during the iggle games... so i'd not be a hoot to be around, some would even call me an ass on those days... not many tho.

I witnessed PhillyFan on his home turf, Roscoe's -- let's just say they have a waiter designated just to serve him

Personally I like the guy, but I didn't get to see him in action while watching a football game. We were at a gay country/western line dance bar.

Hey, i'm simply saying that if its during football, especially eagles football, i'm not nice to be around. I drink, curse, yell, and sometimes throw things.
I watch the birds and idle chit chat bothers me. Unless it's Iggle related of course.
