A friend and I were arguing the other day about the most miserable Super Bowl this year, and I'd love your thoughts. Of all these matchups, which one would cause the most misery amongst fans? There are many, many potential combos, but these are all matchups with storylines the media would run with for weeks. Which of these would be the most nauseating as the media deluges us for two weeks leading up to the game?

How do I vote for Patriots vs. ANYBODY? biggrin.gif

I voted for the matchup between Arizona and Pittsburgh. I can just imagine the media hulabaloo about Kurt Warner winning another Super Bowl with a different team! Blech!! mad.gif mad.gif

My vote would have to go to the Jets-Packers. First of all I hate both teams. Second, I just couldn't stand having to listen to all the Brett Favre crap. Luckily I can't imagine the Packers getting anywhere near the Super Bowl.

I thought about the Pats, Jets, Giants or Colts vs. anybody, but I decided to put specific matchups. Of course, THE most nauseating playoff matchup would be a Colts-Pats AFC Championship (even I would vote for that one), but that can't happen in the Super Bowl.

In terms of game interest, of the teams still alive, the worst would be Arizona vs. Baltimore. ohmy.gif

For pukeworthy ESPN storyline overkill, it would be Jets/Packers.

I don't quite get these matchups.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v. Indianapolis Colts: Dungy against Tampa? Dungy's been gone from Tampa so long, who cares. Other than Peyton Manning being there I don't see anything else. And Manning already went through his long wait and finally got one, so who cares.

Dallas Cowboys v. San Diego Chargers: Norv Turner vs. Dallas? Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn. They'd run with T.O. stories, but they'd do that no matter what AFC team is involved. Fortunately, neither of these teams are getting in. tongue.gif

Arizona Cardinals v. Pittsburgh Steelers: Ken Whisenhunt vs. Pittsburgh? Double, triple yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

I don't think the media could run with storylines from these matchups because there's nothing of interest there.

Tennessee v Carolina.

Quick, name three players on either team. Yawn.

Cowboys vs Patriots (team loudmouth vs team smugmouth)

Actually, another unbearable matchup would be Giants vs. Colts. We'd be subjected to non-stop "Manning Bowl" and "brother vs. brother" nonsense, interviews with their third grade teacher, etc.

Absolutely...As much as I bleed for the Jets to make it to the Super Bowl, the Favre lovefest would be ridiculous.

Wow. How could I have missed that one? That beats out all the other ones for me; I just might not even watch that game.

Well this one could actually be fun if you make a drinking game out of it. Do a shot for every time they cut to Archie sitting, watching nervously. You'll be shitfaced by the end of the first quarter. tongue.gif

You won't have to worry about the Patriots.

As for me, give me the Titans any day so I can stare at Jeff Fisher.

It would be really cool to see the Cowboys in the Super Bowl so the title "Chokingest Team of All Time" could be tossed around again.

George, does NBC have the Super Bowl in February? If so, then a Jets entry into that game would mean endless fawning over Favre by John Madden. Frank Caliendo would have a field day! tongue.gif
