And the winner is : David Gregory. Excellent choice IMO. Gregory is both easy on the eyes, and has a ton of intelligence. Asks the hard, good, questions too. He seems to be a star on the rise within MSNBC, and this choice confirms it I think. Excellent show today with Obama. I swear each time I hear him speak, I am even more impressed. The country is in excellent hands I think.

David Gregory is an excellent choice. He's not from MSNBC - he's from NBC News, and as such appeared regularly on MSNBC. NBC picked him to anchor their convention coverage on MSNBC after the buffoonish Olbermann and Matthews embarrased the network with their behavior in Denver. I think he'll be great on MTP, and this keeps in the on deck circle for The Today Show when Matt Lauer decides to move on, which is what NBC has been planning for some time now.

I'm not exactly thrilled about the choice of Gregory as Meet the Press Host. I do not view him in the regard that I do other NBC journalists. But, I guess when you look at the options they had, Gregory was their best choice. I personally wouldn't have minded Brokaw coming out of "retirement" to fill the seat permanently. I don't know...perhaps he'll grow on me.

I think NBC would have loved it if Brokaw had decided to remain as permanent host, but he apparently was adamant that he did not want the job and enjoys his semi-retirement.
