I think there are only like 10 players signed up right now. What's up with that? The bowl season begins in less than 48 hours with 4 games on Saturday.

Here's a lesson for everyone. Don't overthink or overanalyze your picks. I won last year's Outsports Bowl Pick 'em and went only with my gut. This time around, I went with my gut at first and made my picks. Then, I started listening to Herbstreit, Fowler and the rest of them and I started thinking, "Hmm... that's a great point about [insert team]. They've got those injuries! They're playing close to home. They haven't won a bowl game in 15 years, etc." So I went back in and changed 6 of my bowl picks. And guess what? I'm editing this on Dec. 31, and I've now lost all 6 that I went back and changed!! Aargh! Take it from me... stay with your first choice.

You mean you picked Florida??? I can't believe it! Even I picked Utah when nobody else was...yes I believed..and yes I was in New Orleans!! I've never heard 55,000 Bama fans so quiet.

Actually it would help our case...incrementally...if Florida were to beat Oklahoma in a tight game. But let's be honest: we're not going to get more than 4 or 5 first place votes in the AP. And either way I think the Sooners will win.

2009 National Champions...FLORIDA!!!!! Oklahoma left too many points on the field. Going for it on 4th down and not getting it in, and the interception right before the half at the goal line. Plus, their field goal try was blocked. Florida's defense was once again stellar, and while I supported Bradford for the Heisman, Tim Tebow is THE TRUTH!!! He converted the 3rd down plays when they needed to be converted. Stellar performance by them and 2nd national championship in 3 years. Question is...does Tebow declare for the NFL after this year or does he stay for his final year at Florida? Surely who I preferred to win. Don't mess with the SEC!! Congrats Gators!!!

I'm glad Fox lost the broadcast rights to the BCS and that the games will be moving to ESPN. The Fox coverage this bowl season was awful. The bad announcing teams were a big problem, but even moreso was the fact they don't even show the play clock, timeouts remaining, or a lot of the key stats that you want to see during a game. ESPN is definitely several steps above. And I almost had to wipe my TV screen a few times tonight when the Fox announcers shot their wads every time Tebow made a play. Their fawning over him was embarrassing.

I didn't catch the postgame but I'm guessing Tebow's lord and savior did all the work again? Why does God hate Oklahoma?

I agree completely with the poor performance by the Fox team. It was like a high school set of announcers calling the game. I kept wondering what they were bringing to the game that I didn't already know.

The pre-game pretty much sucked also and has throughout the BCS series. Barry Switzer is becoming more and more irrelevant in college football and should just enjoy retirement in Norman. His OU bias shows so badly in the pre-games.

Apparently the Fox live stream was a poor experiment gone bad. Over at the Eye on Sports Media blog they pretty much trashed the entire experience. It looks like Fox is just now coming into the era of live streaming video and appears to be experimenting with technology about 2 years old.

I'm glad they lost the bid to the BCS. Good riddance of a group that never really gets college football. Stick to the NFL. That seems to be the only sport they are capable of not entirely f***ing up.

Other than that, the game was pretty lackluster and boring. OU didn't show up for most of the game. FL was entirely dependent on Tebow's performance. The ACC crew appeared to be too "careful" in too many plays. The Orange Bowl overall looked like it was their first rodeo (coin toss, play clock). The Ford contest at the beginning? Who hired the ad agency for that toolbox contest? I don't care how you could have dressed that puppy up. It was BORING!!!! Now you know why the Big 3 are in such trouble.

Poll wise, I personally don't really care about the AP poll at the end of the year. As pointed out by Jim several the writers have never seen some of the top teams play as the season progressed (and we wonder why print media is becoming irrelevant). FL should be #1, I can accept the Utes as number #2, I don't understand USC as #3, and my Horns are #4 ahead of the Sooners who should never have been in the championship game. Whatever.

Transition to college basketball now. It should be a great season. We already have several of the top teams (my Horns included) being beaten by lesser teams. The tournament will be awesome this year. Ready to head to KC for my sub-regional. I've heard their's a great gay sports bar there.

Well that was a better ending to the pickem Good job this year, Ill Repute -- 1st place in the regular season and 2nd place for the bowls.

And Tebow will come back for his last year at Florida, which will add to his legacy at Florida, and allow us one more year of major slurping ad nauseum over him.
