Duh! Ya think!

Gotta love this quote:

QUOTE
"I think the party has to stop shouting at the world and at the country,"Powell said. "I think that the party has to take a hard look at itself, and I've talked to a number of leaders in recent weeks and they understand that." Powell, who says he still considers himself a Republican, said his party should also stop listening to conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

"Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?" Powell asked. "Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?"

It'll be interesting to see how that megalomaniac Rush & his ilk will respond to Powell. He best walk a fine line! rolleyes.gif

It's nice of Colin Powell to take a stand on Rush Lie-baugh. Shame it only took 15 years or so. rolleyes.gif

Powell vs Limbaugh

The scary part is that 51% of the people polled want Rush Limbaugh's vision of the Republican party. If thats the case, this party will continue to lose more and more power with each passing election cycle. This was an election that showed how this country's attitudes are changing. McCain and Republican rallies with their lack of diversity and hate talk were appalling to watch during this election cycle. People's racism and prejudice was on full display and it sickens me how they try to hide behind by claiming its simple good ole American pride or American values.

Guess the GOP will just rally around the Confederacy. Don't these people realize that in about 30 years the majority of Americans will in fact be visible minorities, with Latinos being the largest of that group. If you cant get them to support you now you're going to be hard pressed to gain their support down the road.
I think what amazed me most watching the 2 conventions on tv was the audiance. The faces at the Democratic convention were diverse, young, old, male, female, white, black, brown, yellow. The GOP convention might just as well been held at a retirement community in Norway, they looked so old and white. The only color seemed be be from reporters on the floor.

Powell vs Limbaugh...

The best quotes of the article:

QUOTE
That's classic Limbaugh. A dizzying string of willful inaccuracies, half-truths, and revisionism all proving the central point that Rush, once again, is the victim of a liberal conspiracy. To claim that Democratic crossover votes were responsible for McCain's victory is more than a little disingenuous, and not supported by hard evidence. After all, Mitt Romney won Michigan, the state where all those Democratic votes were supposed to help McCain. Moreover, McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate to appeal directly to the more conservative elements of the party. That was no "move to the center."

GOP voices of dissention are getting louder. Wow! I'm surprised that this came from Gingrich. Let's see how this plays out w/ fat bastard & O'Really.
