The hubby & I FINALLY broke down & bought a 46" Samsung LCD HDTV (we couldn't resist the 36-month interest-free sale @ Circuit City). At any rate, since I'm officially done w/ school (for now at least) we'll have lots of time to watch films @ home. However, we weren't sure which movie channel to order through Time Warner. What are your thoughts: Starz, Cinemax, or Showtime/The Movie Channel? Most people online say Starz but I'd rather get your input. FYI, movie classics are not that important to us. But the most current films, indie films, foreign films, and "big hit" films are. Thanks. smile.gif

I'd say go with Netflix to be honest. I've never been impressed with the pay movie channels in so much that they rarely seem worth the cost. With Netflix you get the movies you want in a day or two and can get more than 1 at a time so that you can have a choice.

Of course you actually have to watch the movies which is the problem that my partner and I seem to have.

Just my two cents.

That's why we want a suggested movie channel so we can select a film RIGHT when we're in the mood! tongue.gif

...Don't tell me! Nobody's been in this predicament?! tongue.gif laugh.gif

Of the 3 I say Showtime simply for their great original programming. They have The Tudors, Dexter, and Weeds. Three great shows.

i like showtime.

If you are going to get membership from Netflix, make sure that you also buy a bluray DVD as well to go along with your 46 inch tv.

another thing--- get a HD feed as well.

never ends, huh.

Yeah, I've got the feed(s), a DVR, HDMI wiring, & the tv also has InfoLink, a pretty cool feature via the net. & yes, a blu-ray player's next. Oy! So much moola to spend.

My bf wanted to watch Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D so he went & bought it. We watched it last night & it was really no different to the movie theatre experience (Yamaha surround sound system really helps), except we're gonna keep the 3D glasses that the theatres provide next time we see one, rather than use the one's that came with the dvd.
