I might be able to make it, especially if it's a farewell to BPT before he leaves the eastern time zone for the frozen tundra of Minneapolis. wink

1pm. Barrow Street Alehouse, which is located on Barrow Street between West 4th Street and 7th Avenue. But keep checking the thread in case we don't get enough interest to actually do it this weekend.
And since the Jets-Raiders play the early game, there will be no problem getting a table!

Do you mean more people would be more interested in the Giants-Eagles game than the Jets-Raiders game?
In any case, Cattledog and I will be there on Sunday. Looking forward to some exciting games and seeing everyone.

Alrighty then! We're on. For any newcomers, we will be the Barrow Street Alehouse by 1pm. It's on Barrow Street (go figure!) between West 4th Street and 7th Avenue. You can take the #1 train to Christopher Street and you are a stones throw away. Aslo any of the lines that stop at West 4th Street get you pretty close. If you need more detailed directions, PM me and I'll get back to you.

Ew! Who in their right mind wants to watch this? I mean, Mike McMahon's actually going to start again! Can you say "craptacular," boys and girls?

eek!

Why, yes it is! And it's so very appropriate...in fact, I'd be willing to skip the 4 pm game entirely and go see "Brokeback Mountain" instead. wink

Not being a huge NFL guy, "Brokeback Mountain" I might be willing.
But the Guinness will be swilling.
So with the OutSports guys I'll stay a-chilling.
Also, at 4.00, I want to see my Dolphins play the Chargers, despite the obvious San Diego killing.

Not to worry, I'm sure they'll come withing five touchdowns of the Chargers....unlike some other NFL team I know that can't hold a three touchdown fourth quarter lead  .
and btw all, is it plausible to find parking near said establishment??? I'm debating whether to park and ride mass transit from Jersey or just drive into the city. thanks

Parking on a SUnday afternoon during Xmas season could be tough. Better to take the PATH train to Christopher Street station if you can. You can take the train from Hoboken or Jersey City. Let me knwo if you need more info.

I have been giving it some thought, and may decide to join you guys for part of the afternoon. After all I wouldn't want JIP and MunsonMan to be all alone watching the Eagles-Giants game. I will see how my morning goes tommorrow.

Jerseyguy: When get get off at Christopher Street station, cross 7th Avenue and bear right onto West 4th Street. The first right is Barrow Street. Walk down Barrow St about half way and the Barrow Street Ale House is on the left side of the street.

I had a blast - as always. BF enjoyed meeting everyone - it's a side of me he's never seen before, and late last night was reading some posts. Now if only I could get him to understand there are no "farm teams" in football....

It's always great to meet up again with people that I now consider friends (or in BPT's case--acquaintances to whom I should be extremely cautious

). It's good to be back home in the New York/New Jersey area, especially living with Pat125. It is also great to meet guys like Jerseyguy (despite his Mets tendencies

) and Blueraider (despite his Miroslav Satan sweater

). I am glad you guys all got home safely.

It was great seeing everyone again. It was nice that we had a larger gathering than usual. And yes, I sort of remember the Vikings winning and Bears losing, or something like that. Even more surprising was the Jets winning. But then again, even when the win, they lose, as it will be extremely unlikely they will win the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.
Cyd, congratulations on winning the NYC Flag Football Championship.

As I tell you every time you ask me that question, we'll have to wait awhile, but yes we can do it again.
Actually we thought of getting together for a playoff day.

Is that the one downtown close to the Brooklyn Bridge? If so, we used to go there after work when I was on temporary assignment in NYC. Damn best priced beer in NYC.

Barrow Street Ale House is located in the West Village just off of 7th Avenue and very close to Christopher Street. It isn't near the Brooklyn Bridge. Maybe you are thinking of another place?
