I (and some other outsporters) hung out with PhillyFan on Saturday and Sunday nights. Unfortunately, Eagles couldn't win, even though he had traveled across the country to see the game.
It is always interesting meeting Outsporters - PhillyFan is a really nice guy. My only surprise is I sense somewhere inside, there is a closeted liberal struggling to come out. Well, I guess everyone needs to come out in their own time.

My lips are sealed. Seriously, we had a great time. I must say that I was very impressed that PhillyFan was sober when we saw him after the game yesterday (in light of the Eagles debacle). When we closed (almost) the bar -- his demeanor was a bit different. I remained perfectly sober, of course, so I could report all of his activities. Unfortunatly, I have now forgotten everything
Scottie is right -- PhillyFan is hardly the avid right winger we have come to know. I understand that he is now on his way to DC -- Gator and William -- we expect a full report.
It was good to see Scottie and PhillyRunner. JIP -we missed you! As I begin to remember more details -- I'll pass them along...

Are you guys on crack? The PhillyFan I met today for lunch was far from a liberal. In fact, the first thing he said to me after we met was "When are you going to join the Log Cabin Republicans?" Despite my efforts to talk about sports, Hurricane Isabel, even the seeming end of the Ben and J-Lo show, he kept steering the subjects back to politics! It was infuriating. I finally had to cut short our meeting and return to work, even though I had permission to stay later than I did.
Maybe the only redeeming factor was that when I said we should call the waitress over to get the check, he didn't yell out "Hey chicky! Get your butt over here!"

JIP -- he clearly was still hung over from the Eagles loss and the resulting drowning of sorrows wink

It's eerily quiet in here without PhillyFan, kinda like the first few days after Bluebird disappeared. Except this time we know PF is coming back. wink I'm looking forward to stories from your trip, PF. Really!

I met phillyfan on Saturday night and couldn't believe what a boisterous and annoying Rush Limbaugh clone he was. Well I had to put him in his place, so I dragged him down to the pit at the Bikestop. There I got some leather bears to paddle him over the pool table. You should have heard the screams.
But seriously, I take that all back, he really is not a bad guy at all, more reserved than I expected. I am really starting to think alot of people on this board are like him, in that their bark is worse than their bite.

I saw Joe in Philly on the subway home from tonight's Phillies/Marlins game (we WON!

). We were comparing notes, can't believe we met the same guy over the weekend. I guess I bring out the liberal leanings in people, where Joe probably brings out the conservative side of the same person....

I spotted Philly and William having beers in JR's on 17th street in DC earlier tonight. I can't be certain, but I swear as I was ordering my vodka cranberry I overheard them saying to each other how secretly turgid they both got after watching Wes Clark in his recent Fox News appearance. wink

I don't know about "always." I didn't spot any last night that I know of. You might be thinking of Mr. P's.

Great fun last night! William was his usual funny-as-hell self, and PF was a helluvalotta fun. Both are terrific guys, despite their malformed political opinions. wink
I even took pics so that everyone could see how cute PF is, but I left my camera at 30 Degrees. BG is pissed, but she'll get over it.

someone wanna explain to me what a "rehobeth" place is? Something bad?
Hey folks, seriously to all who i got a chance to hang out with, it was great. For libs, ya'all aint half bad... Maybe for next years eagles games you can all study up on your Conservative Values and become true american patroits like WM1865.
Thinking back here... i think that PF was drunk for 60% of the trip. Which leaves 40% for driving and sleeping.
OH MDPHL, i full admit to being a bit sloshed that night.... sorry for the babbling. heh

And by the way...the whole story I told about our lunch?
It was a hoax. The whole thing was made up. I think it was scottie's idea.

We actually had a good lunch--paid for by PF. Many thanks. And scottie took it as a living example of trickle-down economics. wink I even gave PF a souvenir pin from opening night at the Linc. So mdphl and Seph, you can rest easy.

I'd say the same, except we have been without power at my dads' house since Thursday evening. And Dad #1 decided to stock up on refrigerator and freezer stuff. We've had to throw out way too much food, not to mention walking around with battery-powered lanterns and flashlights.
