This is kinda embarrassing to admit but I have gotten a couple of little "warts" under my arms. I have been told that they are "skin tags" that are caused by a virus. Is there any way to remove other than having a physician take them off? Will they come back?

Calm down. Try googling skin tags. They're benign and caused by skin rubbing against skin. They increase with age. Besides being less than visually appealing, they won't hurt you nor are they a sign of the coming apocalypse. Worry not!

I had some that my doctor dealt with. It sounds horrible, but she simply cut them off. It hurt like a mofo for a minute, but just like a cut, they healed in a few days.

Welcome to getting older....I freaked at first too. The dermatologist had the nurse remove mine when I was in for a checkup. She basically used tweezers to pull it and then snipped it (THEM) right off. Just feels like a little pinch. I actually got the nerve to remove one myself recently. They heal up very quickly.

Apparently another way to remove them is to tie a string or thread around it, which will cause it to fall off on its own within days.
