Astoria World Manor, Astoria, Queens

Tug McGraw will be the Master of Ceremonies .

Finola Hughes (All My Children, Charmed, General Hospital) and Vincent Irizarry (All My Children, Guiding Light, Beverly Hills 90210) will be special guest stars.

This year's honorees are New York City's Bravest, the men and women of the New York City Fire Department.

Tickets to the Silent Auction & Dinner Dance are only $70 and include a full sit-down dinner, a 5-hour open bar, a live auction, a silent auction with hundreds of items--many baseball, a mega raffle, DJ, plus other surprises at the Astoria World Manor.

Prior to the dance there will be a separate small reception.
The reception includes a private photo with Tug and a personally autographed ball. Tickets to the reception are only $50 when you purchase tickets to the Dinner Dance.

As a special treat for a limited # of people for an additional $40, you can sit at Tug's table during dinner.

As with the Bobby V event, last year's Dinner Dance sold out. So act now.

Hey Gary, do you have any financial interest in these "events" you're posting here?????????

You're a new unfamiliar member and everything you post seems to have some kind of fee attached to it.

Who cares if Gary has a financial interest in these events, billsf. I think it's great when members keep each other informed about events they may not hear about somewhere else. Most events are going to cost something! As long as Gary doesn't call me during dinner for a donation, it still is my choice whether or not I want to attend said event.

Keep up the good work, G!

BTW, Gary, I'd like to know how you get the information you get. I love this sort of stuff. I'm still trying to get invited to Robin Ventura's charity bowling event at Chelsea Piers, usually held in December.

I do. Why? Because.

This looks like (although his post doesn't specify it explicitly) a charity event, so I don't see where he'd have a financial interest. As for the other one (Bobby V's place) I have no idea.

These posts seem to really belong in the Gay Local Sports forum, though: "Find out what's happening in your neck of the woods. Meet new friends, start new leagues, hook up to watch games."

I just find these posts weirdy and suspicious. Could be on a queer-baiting mode. Be careful!

Wow, and I thougth I was paranoid. I think self serving could be a criticism. Perhaps not completely forthcoming. But queer-baiting? I haven't seen anything to indicate that.

Some charities have an overhead of 5 percent, while other "charities" have an overhead of 95 percent. In the latter case, all your donations are doing is buying the head of the "charity" a home in Aspen.
