So as most MLS teams begin to get ready to open their training camps for the 2009 season in the next few weeks I thought it would be a good time to talk about some of the off-season moves.
Here in Toronto TFC made the one big move fans were really hoping for - landing Dwayne De Rosario - hometown soccer hero. That move alone likely guarantees that the honeymoon between TFC and their fans will continue at least through the start of the new season.

And the rumour mill is in overdrive that Beckham's temporary move to AC Milan from the Galaxy will become permanent. Or is that just out there to keep his name and the MLS in the sports pages these days as this blog on the TFC website suggests.

TFC open in Kansas City on March 21. I suspect that is a little to far away for there to be a sizeable contingent of TFC fans in attendance, but look-out Columbus the following week March 28th. I would not be surprised to see a sea of red 5,000 strong for that game in Columbus. Then in week 3 - the usual sell-out of 20,000+ gathers for the home opener here against Seattle on April 4th. The welcome for De Ro that day will undoubtedly have BMO Field rocking!
