1/30/09 Rush & Molloy feature had a blind item: "Which baseball heart-throb may be playing for the other team? Word is he slips into bed with Florida fellas". Any guesses? I immediately thought M. Piazza but I'm pretty sure he moved to CA (used to live in FL) and is still married with children.

Don't put too much stock in "Blind Items." Eight times out of ten, they are completely made up to make the particular column look edgy and interesting. It's fun to read them. "Just Asking" on Page Six and Michael Musto's blind items are a mainstay, but read them with large grains of salt!

Interestingly enough, this story correlates quite well with a Talk Jock Blog entry titled "Joe Torre hopes players will come out".
