I am going to be up in DC on Saturday for work, but have the afternoon free. Is there anywhere on 17th street or the environs that will show the Elite Eight games Saturday afternoon? It would be great to sit with a beer and watch the games with other gay college basketball fans.

Hamburger Mary's/Titan may be showing the games (that's on 14th and Rhode Island, NOT the 17th street strip). I also know the DC Eagle will be showing at least the later games on their plasma TV, but I don't think they open until 4PM.

I think the Green Lantern tends to show sports games too. Check their schedule in one of the local gay mags. Or give them a call to see what their plans are. I agree that Titan might be a better bet though.

Ok, DC was great but I walked into Titan at the appointed hour for the first saturday game, UConn v. Alabama, and there must have been 100 rugby players watching rugby and drinking beer. That looked like they were having a great time and any other day I would have stayed and mingled, but college bball was on so I retired downstairs and watched the game with my friend and a couple other guys at the bar at Hamburger Mary's.

So what is the deal, does DC have a rugby team that meets after the matches at Titan? Looked like fun.
