Be still my heart, can all this budget crisis stuff actually have a good outcome? Why yes, yes it can! Now this is the kind of change I'm looking for! I'd stay and chat, but I've got to tidy up the place and do my hair before Michael Phepls pops by....

Since we're on the topic of pot, I thought I might share that I have just finished an 11 day federal trial as a juror deciding the fate of 4 men involved in a drug ring. One of the defendants was primarily dealing in ecstacy while the other 3 were involved in marijuana.
I learned alot about growing pot in the last 3 weeks. The whole ring didn't have to import the weed from far away as they were operating grow houses within an hour drive of where I live. A couple of these homes were in very nice upcale suburban type settings. They had all kinds of equipment to facilitate the growth and even tapped into the electricity illegally so as not to raise suspicion with abnormally high electric bills. The money they were making was quite substantial, several thousand per pound, enough to purchase these homes and to pay the drivers (couriers) $500 per trip.
No matter what your feelings are on the whether this drug should be legal or not, when you are deliberating you have to focus on the law which is spelled out in detail for each crime and base the verdict on that. Everyone on the jury was real good in coming to an agreement on all the charges presented. I don't know if I ever want to participate in a long trial like this again as it becomes a tedious affair seeing hundreds of transcripts, pictures and videos. The worst part for me was the need to have translators for all the witnesses that could not speak english. You definitely feel that you are losing something in the dialogue.

Legalization is getting more publicity. From an economical standpoint it's an interesting argument. & advocates say that it is safer than alcohol...Hmmmm!!!
&
the poll is CERTAINLY interesting!

There's next to no good reason why pot shouldn't be legal.

A-uh-MEN! Except, I wouldn't have nearly the reason to call upon the JFK Jr. 27-year old hottie who always has the most KILLER sick weed on the planet! Tall, dark and and a little buzzed...the way I like 'em!

Wrong. There's ABSOLUTELY no reason why pot shouldn't be legal. And this from a guy who hates the stuff.

The funny thing here is I rarely use pot. I really don't find it that enjoyable in most settings... but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

This is excellent news, especially for those who really need it. I have known several people over the years who do!
