I thought I knew how to do this, but I have tried to post pictures from my pc to different threads and it would not work. I even tried using the insert image function and wasn't able to get my picture posted.

A photo can't be uploaded directly from your hard drive to the discussion board. First upload it to an image hosting service such as TinyPic, PhotoBucket or ImageShack. Resize your image to no larger than 640x480. Copy the resulting URL labeled 'Link' or 'Direct Link' and paste it into your post using the Insert Image button at the top of the text form.
