Wasn't sure if anyone might be interested in their tour dates. I've seen them live several times over the years. If you've never seen them live they are definitely worth the $$$.

Here's DM performing their new single Wrong (a song that has grown on me) at The Echo Awards in Germany. Click on the link near the bottom right corner to view it.

Here's a teaser of another new track titled Ghost.

Edited to add:

Wow I just noticed that they're performing @ Red Rocks in Denver. I've never been there but I've heard it's an amazing place to see a live performance. Hmmm!

Oh SCT, I am all over DM. I was a preteen when I was first exposed to DM at the Concert for the Masses and I have been hooked on live DM ever since. So far, I am all set for tixs in FL already. I plan for Hollywood and Vegas...baby. DM is always a good time. I build vacations around their arrivals.
SCTrojan
I know I've said it b4 forthemasses but DM is my all-time fav band. Based upon your OS name (& post) I imagine they're yours too. And Music For The Masses is definitely one of their best--if not thee best--recording by them. I know people have different opinions 'bout their recordings so...

Btw, I'm sure you know but there are usually lots of traveling fans @ their concerts so I'm not surprised to hear that you'll be goin to several. I wish I had the time...OK, ok, maybe if I was @ least 10 years younger then perhaps I'd do the same. Enjoy yourself. wink.gif

SCT..., Mode just makes me feel good. In fact, it's probably the best relationship I have ever been able to maintain! I've a few friends that also feel a kinship with DM, so not only is it seeing the band play, it's being with incredible individuals I love.

DM's music has been a constant in my life. It's amazing how over twenty years ago we started out taking a city bus to Pasadena to see the Concert for the Masses. Now, we'll fly around and stay in nice hotels for the Tour of the Universe.
forthemasses
..and now have this....................

Heeeyyyyyy! There's also this, music artwork @ its best...& this--a must for collectors!
forthemasses
...and Dave Gahan is still just as sexy 30 years later.

Ooop! I posted something on the wrong thread. Sorry.

Well, not exactly. It was me until I took the SOTU box set out of packaging and then noticed the box set dented. I sat there agonizing over...should I open it or not? Well, I sent it back to Amazon for a replacement. I had already purchased the album on iTunes anyway.

As for the tickets, I am set in Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood..............I am still on the hunt for Vegas tixs baby.

Where would you be flying from?

I would have sent it back too! Did you receive your replacement?

Yeah, my niece-in-law has GREAT contacts for concert txts, always great/expensive seats for cheap prices. Well, she asked my sis the other day, "Does uncle Ray want to go to the DM concert? This way I could start working on getting the txts."

Actually, one of my other sis bought me the cd as a surprise! She knows how much I love them. I'm working on getting the box set. W/ age comes frugalness (is that even a word?) so I've been hunting for one @ a cheaper price. Eventually I'll hit the jackpot. I always do!
forthemasses
I did receive the replacement and absolutely love it. The box includes demos from various DM eras as well as a documentary style making of the SOTU. It amazes me how this band remains humble in their success 30 years later.

Hopefully the concert will resume tomorrow in Germany with a fully recovered Dave Gahan.

Depeche Mode has arrived in North America!!!

Sweetie, did you happen to notice the ad here on OS for DM ring tones? smile.gif
canmark
I'm not a Depeche Mode fan, I'm afraid. But here are some good pics from their Toronto show on BlogTO.
SCTrojan
Great pix & article. Thanks for sharing. wink.gif
forthemasses

Thanks canmark and SCT...I will check out the ring tones and pixs.

Should I go to see Depeche Mode? A friend told me to live a little and go. I know a couple of their songs, so not a huge fan. It's a work night and I live an hour away from the show. Ugh, decisions, decisions....
SCTrojan
I agree w/ your friend considering the changes you've been goin thru the last few months. wink.gif

...& trust me I can't imagine not having a good time @ a DM concert, especially if you've never been to one.

I hope you are right, SCTrojan. I bought my ticket today. I'm expecting a really great concert.

FWIW, thanks for all your advice lately.
SCTrojan
The only thing I would suggest is that you catch up a bit w/ their music. If have some cds listen to them. If you don't then buy their latest Sounds of the Universe since 1/2 of their songs will be from this album & this one & this one. Those 3 albums will cover most of what you'll hear. Have a good time. Keep us posted!

Edit:

Maybe your friend can burn cds for you...

Oh btw, a lil herbage enhancement would assist w/ having a good time. ohmy.gif wink.gif
forthemasses
aaron71, I hope you have a great time at the concert. I am completely biased when it comes to Depeche Mode. I build vacations around their tours. I just saw them three times over the past two weeks and I am set to see them one last time for this tour next weekend.

I know you already bought the ticket, but if I only knew a couple of songs by a group that's been around a long time, I wouldn't buy a ticket to their concert because someone told me to "live a little and go." I'd buy a ticket to a show by someone I really enjoy. Now, if this person invited you to go with him/her, that might be a different story.
aaron71
There's other reasons I decided to attend. For one, my uncle is sending a care package for my mom, I need to pick up from a friend of the family. She's going to the concert too. Plus, come to find out, a lot of my facebook friends are going.

Depeche Mode should just do a concert at our football stadium. I had no idea DM was still so popular.

Good pt Joe. When I read aaron's post I just assumed that it was an invitation to go w/ his friend...But honestly, either way aaron will still have good time if all things go smoothly. DM, imho, is one of those bands that you should see @ least once in your life. I know, I know, I'm biased. But still.
aaron71
I will go just to be with friends. That's what life's about. Spending time with family and friends. Not about what concert I attend. It's the times with family and friends that I'll remember most. Frankly, after a concert, I have trouble remembering what song was or wasn't sung, anyways. It's all about the experience.

Now I know what ^^^ means. Not really but came thisclose to trying some.

The concert was alright. New Kids on the Block was far more better, IMO.

What I loved was seeing my friends and running into others. I totally missed out on the chance to tell my friend, that I too was gay. He told me about his gay stepbrother. I didn't like what he had to say, so I didn't state my own sexual preference. I didn't want to spoil the evening. It was a great time. May be in time, he will realize that I'm gay and knowing who I am, will change his mind a little bit.

Ladies and gentlemen: the loud, angry screaming you're currently hearing is coming from SCTrojan and forthemasses... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

lol!

...But New Kids on the Block? C'mon...
SCTrojan
I should have added New Kids on the Block couldn't ever touch Master & Servant! ohmy.gif tongue.gif
forthemasses
aaron71! I will be nice, but only because some DM fans express far worse comments than the New Kids On The Block (formerly known as NKOTB, formerly known as New Kids On The Block) comment!

The DM message boards are filled with so many b it ches and moans for songs left out of the set. It's 30 years of catalog people, they have to narrow it down to a two hour show.

aaron71! Really! I will wash your New Kids comment off by seeing Depeche off in Fort Lauderdale this Saturday!
