...the world...a new Travel Channel show (airs Monday evenings)...not bad. The gist of the show is that he travels the globe (ala Anthony Bourdain) training and then playing the games of a different country each week. He's a bit stiff right now...not yet 100% at ease but he's surprisingly good-natured...Regardless, if the show lasts-- I think it will allow him to morph into an interesting TV persona, which will help if and when the football career goes south. It's great to see a big, burly football star with very little body-issue-hang-ups....as the pics below suggest. Enjoy!

OMG I love Dhani's body

Didn't you watch the premiere episode, featuring the Muay Thai boxing? I blogged about it back before it aired. His shirt was off for at least half the episode. Despite how fine he looked, it didn't make me want to watch any more episodes...though that pic above where he's apparently going to be sumo wrestling (or, for some reason, wearing a diaper ) intrigues me...

The second episode was great. He wrestles these farmers in some podunk part of Switzerland. He wins a few matches, gets his ass kicked, runs around in swimming trunks, charms everyone he comes into contact with (including this somewhat creepy, dead-eyed coach of his), and just sparkles. I don't want to miss a single episode of this show.

Watching the show for the first time now. He's in England playing rugby. He is so handsome. The scene where he is getting fitted for a suit. OMG...melted. Did you see his ass poppin in those jeans? Lord have mercy? There is something SO SEXY about a man in a TAILORED suit!!! I'm sorry...buying from the rack just doesn't cut it when you are buying a suit. Everyone's body is different. 46 Long just isn't going to cut it. Yes, they make athletic suits and slim suits but in order to get that "damn that suit looks great on him" compliment, you need to have it tailored. The fit in the shoulders is so key and you need the right inseam of the pants. Nothin bugs me more than a guy with a suit that makes him look too big. I see it every day on really attractive guys with nice bodies and I'm like ugh. Seriously...if there is one thing men should pay absolute attention to, it is their suit. PLEASE visit the tailor. Its not expensive and it makes SUCH a difference.

Mdterp, did you notice where Dhani Jones bought his Savile Row suit? From OZWALD BOATENG. One of the best tailors on that street. His show House of Boateng was one of the freshest shows on Sundance.

I have to agree, I am enjoying this show very much. I was wondering, it looked like (in the rugby episode) that Dhani left the bar with a young lady and who got into his limo before they drove off. Did anyone else see that? If so, that is one lucky lady.

I also so have to agree with one of the posters on the Rod site who said its so refreshing to see a young brotha who is intelligent and cultured and devoid of hip hop posturing and retardation. Young black males need to be looking up to him as a role model instead of these thuggish rappers who degrade women and pour Cristal all over their breasts in videos.

I also have to agree that the producers must be playing up his assets because the camera guys are forever zooming in on his ass (not that I'm complaining one bit). I agree that he's so refreshing to watch every Monday. There's a place for the rappers (though yes, the gross sexism, celebration of dysfunction, etc., is a problem) that people love, but Dhani's show highlights how infrequently we get to see young people of color--especially young Black, Latino, Asian, Arab, Mixed--doing something other than mugging and creating spectacles on TV. So I'm really glad his show is on. I also especially like how the show features his humorous side, lets us see him sometimes complaining (showing that he isn't perfect), and often includes moments where he's interested in spiritual things, like when he walked around the grounds of the temple in Thailand. All of that, on top of showing him proudly walking around with his nappy afro, his big beefy, big-bootied body, and his beautiful smiling face, makes this show a gem.

The boyfriend and I are in Maryland tonight and just came from a political forum at Goucher College in Towson, MD in which Obama chief campaign strategist David Plouffe was on hand to talk about how the best grassroots presidential campaign in history was created and managed. Nice question and answer session at the end too. The crowd was huge.
