Well, the best set of fights in 2009 is finally here. With two main events and several great matchups this is going to be an superb show. I hope you are right about Mir. I'd love for Brock "What's a steroid?" Lesnar to go away as quickly as he came.

Mac Danzig is fighting for his career. He loses I don't see him getting a new contract. Bonnar best win as well but they'll keep him around I think even if he does loses. Like O'Brien but Jon Jones is a local boy.

A buddy of mine who works out with Tamdan McCrory thinks Henderson will beat Bisping but I think youth will be served in that one altho I'll be rooting for Henderson.

GSP/Alves - that one is too close to call.

Not gonna do the pay-per-view but am sorely tempted for this one.

Up early, trying to keep the dogs quiet since I have a house full of company.

Lesnar still thinking he's in the WWE with the after-fight BS. I guess he really beat the crap out of Mir.

Good job, Dan henderson! I look forward to watching Bisping get knocked out.

My latest facebook "friend" CB Dollaway put to sleep. Bummer. Mac Danzig best start looking for a new line of work.

Lesnar was a complete a-hole after the fight. GSP spelled complete domination. Bisping is still too green for primetime.I didn't watch the CB Dollaway/Lawlor fight but it ended up winning submission of the night.

... and for the records, Alan Belcher got robbed blind.

Lesner is a homophobic asshat with stupid looking tats. I was really hoping Mir would take him down.

Here is your UFC Heavyweight champ in action after the fight. What a class act. Is this MMA or WWE?. ..

"After referee Herb Dean stopped the fight 1:48 into the second round as Lesnar whaled away at Mir's bloodied face in the corner of the Octagon, Lesnar got up, pointed at the crowd and raised both his middle fingers in victory as he was showered with boos. He then got in Mir's face as his defeated challenger came to and brushed off security guards as they tried to control him.

It was scene reminiscent of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at the height of his career as his rebel persona lifted the WWE to new heights of popularity. The only thing missing was a Coors Light victory shower although Lesnar promised that would come later.

"I'm going to go home tonight and drink a Coors Light because Bud Light won't pay me," said Lesnar, pointing at the logo of the presenting sponsor of the event. "I'm going to sit down with my friends and family and hell, I might even get on top of my wife tonight.""

Lesnar a perfect villain for UFC

Lesnar with his tail between his leg.. the damage is already done.. I personally will not support ANY event that this classless Lesnar dude is a part of.

Belcher did not get robbed despite what the (always shitty) commentary said.

While he solidly won round 3, he did not control the ring in either of the first two rounds, and hits scored looked just about even, if not slightly against. The superman punch off the cage, while cool, did not connect in any meaningful way and if he hadn't missed that he would have had his KO.

At the end of the day it's your own damn fault if you let the fight go to cards. Whining about Belcher is like the last kid to get cut from the team whining that he was more deserving than one of the final few to make it. If you ever put yourself in a position it's that close, you f**king deserve it. I have zero patience for people applying the term "robbed" to a slim margin of subjectives.

And on to the rest:

Henderson's after the fact hit was a complete douchebag move. In his defense his head was turned slightly after the punch, so he might not have seen, but he still could have probably aborted the hit to an extent.

GSP was a fantastic display of technical domination. For the sake of a more interesting fight, it would have been nice to see him try to strike some more (obviously dangerous against a Mauy Thai guy) but I don't think he ever really had a good chance of submitting Thiago Alves. Alves is just too strong.

Lesner is a douche. I'd like to see him fight Fedor, or more realistically I'd like to see Cain Velasquez beat him although Cain'd probably need a couple years of training.
Maddog
I'd like to see Lesner fight Jason Vorhees. Oh crap, was that out loud?

I've been reading several of the articles and blogs about UFC 100 and specifically the Belcher fight and the opinions are about evenly divided. Some people saw Belcher win, some others saw Akiyama. I watched the fight again a couple of times and I have to admit that I saw a better Akiyama the second time around that my initial perception. I still think that Belcher ended ahead but what do I know. I do agree 100% that if you leave it to the judges then you deserve the outcome. I hope that Alan Belcher emerges a more mature better fighter after this.

Here is a good article on the results:

Ok so I got in a huge argument about this at work which lead to watching the fight again. I am sticking to Akiyama but I do see a little more of an argument for Belcher than I might have previously. Anyway, if they meet again, it should be a good fight.

Lol, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that gets into HUGE arguments over MMA fights

... If Belcher Akiyama meet again I'll put $20 on Belcher wink.gif

from what i saw, tickets are quite pricey though, unless you want a lousy seat.

totally unattainable for me right now, with my financial situation.
which is SUCH a damn shame.
