Well this is always a crapshoot but what the hell.
(* indictaes Wild Cards)
NFC
East
Eagles
Giants*
Cowboys
Redskins
If McNabb and Westbrook stay healthy they are the class of this division IMO. The Giants could take the division if Eli and his new receivers work well together.
North
Vikings
Bears
Packers
Lions
Man it pains me to have to try and root for Brett Favre but I gotta do what I gotta do. The division is better than last year but Cutler doesn't really have anybody to throw to and the packers D still has alot of question marks.
South
Falcons
Panthers*
Saints
Buccaneers
The Falcons offense looks mighty explosive and if the D steps it up they win this division. The Panthers window is closing but I think they have one more playoff run in them. The Saints will put up alot of points but probably give up more.
West
Cardinals
Seahawks
49ers
Rams
This one was tough. The Cardinals benefited greatly from the Seahawks injury-riddled year. They may have lucked out by being in a weak division but now that they've actually won somethign maybe they'll stop underachieving. I know the Niners are alot of folks pick to be this years Cardinals or Dolphins, but I'm not sold.
AFC
East
Patriots
Dolphins
Jets
Bills
The Patriots get Brady back and should run away with the division. The Dolphins come back down to earth with a really tough schedule and the Jets will struggle with a rookie QB.
North
Steelers
Ravens*
Bengals
Browns
This division is going to be much tougher than it would seem. I was really tempted to pick the Bengals as a Wild Card. I think the defense will be alot better. But the Steelers and Ravens are too tough.
South
Titans
Colts*
Texans
Jaguars
I was really tempted to say the Colts miss the playoffs for the first time in forever and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Texans sneak into second place.
West
Chargers
Chiefs
Broncos
Raiders
The Chargers will have this division clinched by Halloween. The Chiefs will be better than last year and might pull off a couple of upsets and I can actually see the Raiders finishing ahead of the Broncos.

Between key injuries (offensive line, LB Stewart Bradley), the adjustment to a new defensive coordinator and the usual bizarre circumstances -- this year, it would seem to revolve around the Vick circus -- I have no idea how the Eagles' season will turn out.

Hey all. I was just wondering if there were any plans on doing a pick' em over at pooltracker.com like we used to. Lemme know.

George your picks seem well thought out. Do you really think the Bills will end up at the bottom of the AFC east with one-hit-wonder T.O.? Or is that wishful thinking?

I don't think TO will make the Bills any better really. I could see the Bills, Jets and Dolphins all having about the same record. The Jets D should be among the league's best so I think that gives them the edge. And Miami will fall off a bit from last year but not enough to finish behind Buffalo. But who knows...the Bills could be this years Falcons or Cardinals...I doubt it though.

Earlier I heard that Sports Illustrated has the Eagles 3rd in the NFC East with a 9-7 record. Interesting. With what's been going on with injuries and such, that 9-7 sounds right to me.

Yeah all the NFC East teams have issues. The Giants AP (after Plax) last year were pretty pedestrian. Plus they lost one of their 1000 yard rushers in Ward as well. I still think Philly wins the division but I'm almost inclined to think Dallas could take second dropping the Giants to third. maybe it's one of those years and divisions where the winner goes 9-7?

The Seahawks are going to surprise people this year so I think it is good people are underestimating them. The defense has been re-tooled and looks better than that awful product they put on the field last year under John Marshall (aside from all the injuries). Aaron Curry is looking like the real deal and if healthy all year, will be a contender for Rookie Of The Year. And John Carlson will have a pro bowl type of year. And as a bonus, he is very easy on the eye

Injuries. Ugh. It can't be as bad as it was last year, can it? Last season was freakishly weird for the entire Seattle Sports scene.
I see the Seahawks battling the 49ers for the West title. Arizona will have the post Super Bowl blues and finish 3rd and the Rams will take the title away from the Lions as the worst team in the NFL.

Hey MDG. Good to see you back here.

I gotta tell you, last week was my first look at the Mora led Hawks, and I liked what I saw. I have always liked Mora, but there were some noticeable changes between him and Holmgren, who I think played things too safe. This weeks test with the 9'ers should be REALLY interesting. They look really hungry too. The line I have seen is for the 9'ers by 1, so I expect some battle. If they can keep Hasslebeck healthy, they will be right there....

Wow talk about a deflating game. Hasselbeck is just one of 3 key injuries to Seattle against S.F. today. Guess its his ribs. No idea how serious yet. I am having flashbacks to last season.

Wow the Browns totally and completely suck. Quinn is a bust. That was just an overhype of the Notre Dame pretty boy QB who can't play for shit. Brady Anderson isn't better. This team is in for it this year. Baltimore is making them look high schoolish. There was a reason teams left his ass sitting during the first round of the draft.

Wow! What an exciting ending in the Vikings-49ers game! I told my bf that Favre was gonna pull it out during that last drive. He had picked Minnesota to win. So he was stressed out. Now he's a happy man.

I must admit - that I was also smiling for Eddie when I saw that the Lions won.
My b/f is a Cowboys fan - and I'm an Eagles fan, so we were also happy that a division rival was defeated. But mostly I was happy for our Eddie.

No matter what one thinks about him you have to give him credit for still "having it". The rest of the season, however, will be the true test.

So at this pace the Lions next win will be in October of 2010 right?
Kidding, I was in Bowling Green OH last night and could have made the ride up for that one. Still kicking myself for it. Had to be a great scene at Ford Field today.

Whoa be the Seahawks. They definitely had their chances against the Bears yesterday. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Its all water under the bridge now. It doesn't get any easier now either. Next week Indy at Indy. I haven't heard the latest on Hasselbeck yet. Planning he won't be ready...yet...so far this season is pretty much a duplicate so far, of last season.
