Directv has lost the rights to air the Versus channel.

It's not a channel I watch religiously but it does broadcast the Tour de France. It will also air a University of Texas football game. How will I get my Colt McCoy and his jockstrap fix?

According to Directv... "Comcast, our largest competitor, has forced us to pull down this channel. Comcast charges us fees to air Versus, and they are now demanding an unfair and outrageous increase in those fees. In these difficult economic times, we do not want to pass this increase on to you, our valued customer, so we asre standing fir in the negotiations on your behalf."

I don't know how many subscribers there are nationally for Directv or even which markets Directv is doing well in, but it will not bode well for some NHL fans who are used to getting their fix on Versus.

I don't think to many NHL fans will be upset that Versus is not on Directv. To watch a hockey game on that station has got to be the worst game to sit through on TV. I haven't watched this station in a couple years and if it never came back on my Directtv I wouldn't give two bits. If you're like me get center ice and watch as many games as your partner will allow before getting to upset. laugh.gif
