Looking for an early work of my favorite gay sci-fi/fantasy writer Mel Keegan I stumbled onto GLBT Bookshelf which is apparently one way of getting around the difficulty of searching for "gay" romance books on the net.

I remember not even being able to search using the word gay at all when using the computers at the main branch of the public library in Norfolk, VA. I notice there is no such restriction searching the catalog on the web now, so I don't know if their computer restriction is still in effect.

It appears that Google and Amazon still have some search restrictions. They didn't matter in my case since I used the link above to get "The White Rose of Night" which I somehow missed when reading all of MK's other novels from that period.

I wonder what other efforts gay writers out there are making to self-publish or otherwise avoid search restrictions.

Or do you need to?

Is romance is making a comeback in the wake AIDS?
