Well it was an exciting game but it wasn't a very well played or managed game. But I'm just glad the Twins won...it would have sucked to lose a play-in game two years in a row...

I had to keep leaving the room - every time I sat down to watch, the Twins pitching would either cough up a run or their offense would leave men stranded. Finally, I ran out of other things to do and they came through in the 12th. Made my day to see them win that game!

We'll be going to game 3 in Minneapolis on Sunday and we're looking forward to it! I've never been to a playoff game before. If it's as much fun as an NCAA tournament game, it should be a blast. tongue.gif I hope it's just a good game either way - don't want to see the Twins get rocked in the early innings and play catch-up the rest of the way.

Yeah I just hope the Twins can figure out a way to be more competitive with the Yankees than they've been the last couple of years. This year they looked like a farm team vs. the Bombers. Watching last night, I was amazed how many of their starting lineup was batting .220 or .230 even thought they have the 5th ranked offense in baseball. Tough to beat the Yanks with that kind of a lineup. Since September 14th, when they were 72-72 they won 15 of 19. But they were playing the Indians, Royals, White Sox and imploding Tigers. The pitching is so inconsistent.

As for the Tigers, this has to go down as one of the bigger collapses/gags in recent history along with the Mets of the previous two seasons. Credit to the Twins for scraping their way out of such a hole but they couldn't have done it without the help of the the Tigers choking it away.

I heard a stat last night on tv after the game that 1901 was the last time a team held a three game lead with four games to play and lost the title - until Detroit. Now THAT is a choke for the ages. Ouch! blink.gif

I was listening to the game on my way home last night from work & the announcer was saying that during the regular season the Twins & Tigers went a combined 1-12 against the Yanks. Ouch! blink.gif

Trust me, all the talk here in Dodgertown was was pretty much the same until they final beat the Rockies the other day. Everyone was expecting a big time choke after 5 attempts to clinch their division. blink.gif

Amen brotha...I went Friday night and the crowd was restless to say the least. Getting ready to riot was more like it, especially after Manny's fourth strikeout!

The managing in that game was APPALLING on both sides.

How a team finishes the regular season has no discernible link to how they play in the postseason.
