Sometimes I wonder if the Republican's don't try to distance themselves from these radicals in an attempt to make it seem like the "center" politically is really more right than it is. The more craziness they allow in their party, the more "normal" the only really conservative people seem.

To me the problem is that the crazies on the right are in the driver's seat in their party as the above links show. Quite sad really. Many of my moderate Repub friends are besides themselves over these nutcases.

I like the Maher video better. It requires less research to get the joke. Also his spoof left me laughing in tears whereas the iPhone only left me with vague feelings that the Republican party might be filled with "nattering nabobs of negativism."

This is what I don't understand about "moderate Republicans" -- what could their policy differences possibly be with Blue Dog Democrats?
