After reading an article about the most recent example of stonewalling by the Obama administration against the release of information concerning the assassination of John F. Kennedy, I have one thought.

Pardon my interruption, but I think this is nye unto suicidal for any world leader.

Cooperating with the forces of darkness within his administration will only tempt them to continue and increase their stonewalling until they create a situation in which someone will find it convenient to eliminate him, it will make it necessary. That is always the eventual result of cooperating with "mafias".

The most erroneous part of the article I link is the last couple of paragraphs, which I copied here:
QUOTE
Before you get too excited, our own Gerald Posner -- fresh off publicity firestorming for his new book -- is there to throw cold water on the whole thing.

"Most conspiracy theorists don't understand this," says Posner, who's written a book debunking JFK conspiracies. "But if there really were a CIA plot, no documents would exist."
I have no idea what the motives of Mr. Posner may be but discouraging the release of these materials by suggesting there is nothing of interest in them is not the way to resolve this investigation - which has gone on much longer and with less "closure" than the 9/11 one. For his own safety, the good of his country and humanity, release this.

Veterans of the conspiracy theories surrounding the deaths of John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King have long pointed out anamolies in these cases and their investigations.

The mysteries surrounding Lee Harvey Oswald are perhaps the best known.

Also the lengendary competition within and among federal agencies, as well as that between federal agencies and municipal and state actors, is a darkness that can only be removed by shining light.

There are many skeletons in our closet, and many chickens that will come home to roost. The sooner we deal with them the better.

My grandfather worked for the CIA around the time of the Kennedy assassination and he said that if the citizens of this country knew some of the things this country's government has done, there would be total chaos. He, to this day, will not tell me exactly what he did in the CIA.

My father doesn't even talk about what he did in the Korean War as a lowly grunt. Sometimes it's just that "strong, silent" personality type.

Edit to add: Your grandfather may also have been aware of some of the "Dark Side this author writes about, though he only refers to the relationship between Israel and the US.

There are no doubt other and darker aspects to our relationships wth other countries around the world.

What these "dark sides" need is a little light.
