OMFG...
The five (count 'em, five!) Republican members of our state senate have introduced a bill to require schools to include "proper etiquette, the correct use and display of the [American] flag" in their curricula.
Only two problems:
A) Flag history and etiquette are already part of the Mass Dept of Education Social Studies Learning Standards, starting with third grade.
and
B) When asked how many stripes the flag has, the Senate minority leader -- one of the bill's co-sponsors -- stammered and took a wild guess... "Um, twenty?" FAIL!
Geez, dude, if you're going to wrap yourself in the flag, maybe you should start by getting a clue about it? Seriously, what a bunch of maroons...
