New entry entitled, "The Larry Johnson Debacle," posted tonight.

I really wanted to present a view that I haven't seen in most the media that simply reported the actions, said it was bad, etc.

Working on another entry, probably for tomorrow, about sports on Broadway. If anyone was able to see, "Take Me Out" while it was running, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I just got a copy of the script today, but would love some opinions from first-hand viewers.

Thanks everyone.

I appreciate everyone that has gone to the site, read my posts, become a facebook fan, and/or contacted me.

If my thread bumping becomes obnoxious, just e-punch me in the larynx.

Wide Rights, I see that you blogged about not having seen Richard Greenberg's play Take Me Out. I personally thought it was OK (not great), although I know some other Outsporters quite liked it. I saw the original Broadway production with an Outsports friend, and then saw the Toronto production with some other Outsports friends. The main difference between those two productions was that the Broadway one had much more buff actors (and yes, there was full-frontal nudity in both). wink.gif

The play has been produced widely across the country. In fact, I see that there is a non-Equity production coming up this January in Brooklyn.

Indiana University is doing a production starting March 2010.

There's also a production in May, 2010 by the Richmond Triangle Players in Virginia.

There's a thread on this board about Take Me Out if you want to know more.

Thanks canmark. I've heard a few other neutral reviews about the show.... that it was alright, but nothing too special.

I believe we should treat gay sports topics differntly, its cool though to vote and rate gay sportsmen and share some anecdotes and stories plus pics of our favourite sportsters.

I actually disagree, but that's just my style. I know plenty of gay sports blogs get plenty of views and fans because of the pics they post, but I want a different feel from my site.

And if that's more your preference, check out my last two posts:

Dec 2 - "Is there a valid argument against gay marriage? Even one?"
Nov 26 - "Thankful for Allies from within the Sports Industry"
