Damn...why did I vote so early?!?!?? I could have held out for some really neat bribes. p
HA! Some oral and a new scarf! eek!

See, voting for Michael Owens doesn't get you that. Now, why would you vote for him?
It's MICHAEL OWEN without the "s"...oh, nevermind, you'll probably see his name spelled correctly in the finals, anyway. smile.gif

Yeah, no "s" because, with Michael, you don't get a scarf and you don't get any sex.

I just voted, and one poll is now tied 54-54.
Mariner Duck Guy
5-1/2 hours to go and as Shore mentioned, the Owen/Harrington match is tied at 54! Wow.

And Ausmus is making a SERIOUS push on Bloom. He has closed the gap to 8 votes. Bloom now leads 58-50.

This one may come down to the night owls and the West Coast voters.

HEY! Joey was in the lead when I came home, so I know how you voted and all I can say is . . .

NO Scarf for you! NEXT!
Joe in Philly
Bloom leads the wonderful Brad Ausmus 59-51. I don't think Ausmus can catch all the way up. It would take a flood of votes, most going his way.

J--- H--------- now leads 56-54.

Hmmm, have we had any suspicious new members that could be double voting?

Owen back up, 58-56...
Mariner Duck Guy
Wow. What a finish!

The finals are set. It will be Michael Owen vs. the reigning KOTH Jeremy Bloom.

Joey has issued a statement thanking Married Lady for all her hard work and support.

What a stunner! This will be battle of the nice chests!

I agree!

Booooooo!

My husband even voted. Now that is love.
Married Lady
Ha! I got my husband to vote too!

Now it's just going to be crickets from me here on out. I'll vote in the finals in honor of MDB, but I won't be happy about it.

Ha! That gives us a year to find a shirtless picture of him.

If we ever do find that elusive photo, it would probably put Joey over the top!

So I guess I'm the only one bothered by these women drafting in straight men with no interest in the outcome of this competition to effectively double the power of their votes? You have some nerve whining about your precious Joey losing after stuffing the ballot box.

Would it make you feel better to know that my husband is capable of admiring a male form and that he did actually think that Joey was the better of the two?

I mean, maybe he said that just to make me happy, but don't hate the player, hate the game.

Matt and Married Lady, that is a very funny exchange. A good laugh this morning.

Wow. Two whole extra votes, and their candidate still didn't win. Those straight women really showed us! rolleyes.gif

I would hope that no one is truly bothered by "ballot stuffing" on a messageboard competition to determine something like who the hottest athlete is. It's not that serious ... at least not since Marat Safin and Javy Lopez were unjustly elimated! tongue.gif

Everyone's just here to have a little fun.

My objection isn't just about effects on the results of the competition (which seem to have been minute), but the disrespect shown to people who voted in good faith. I'd like to think that shows of bad sportsmanship and cheating would be looked down upon at a website that admires sport and the spirit of honorable competition. What's next—signing in under multiple login names so she can vote as many times as she wants in 2006? rolleyes.gif

It would make me feel better to know that your husband signed up because he had an actual interest in being a member of this community and contributing to discussions on his own rather than being your yes man in polls. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

As for this all just being in fun, how much fun is it to sit down to a friendly game of poker and find out that one of the players has an ace stuffed up her sleeve? No one's actually hurt, there are no serious consequences, but the disrespect to those who played fairly ruins the game.

We have a word for this kind of stuff - Drama!

On one hand, Matt makes some good points about fair play. But, I think it's much ado about nothing. Married Lady is cool. She loves Joey, and what's not to love about that? She brings us lots of pretty pictures to drool over (many thanks, ML). If she wants to sign up her husband to help out Li'l Joey, more power to her. I'd sign up my cats if Joey would promise to come visit. smile.gif

There's nothing stopping anyone from multiple registrations on this board, and I'd rather have Married Lady (and her husband) here and being supportive than have them leave because someone has to bitch about voting in this contest. There are so many other battles to fight, let's not waste time and energy on this.
Mariner Duck Guy
Good Grief.

WHY must everything.....!
