Hey guys,
Im looking to meet people in my area, and was thinking of joining some of the sports teams out there, such as water polo and swimming, to meet guys with similar interests.
Does anyone know if it works to make friends?

Worked great for me. Most of the friends I have I met through softball, volleyball and bowling leagues I've been in over the years.

Same thing with me. Many of my best friends I met through 15+ years of playing in the gay volleyball and softball leagues in Toronto
In fact 3 of my best friends - all who I met through gay softball - are joining me for the International Bowl at the Rogers Centre here in Toronto.
