Come on, Eagles, pull off the miracle...
mdterp01
From your lips Joe. I mean they can't play any worse than they did last week...hopefully!!!!
mdterp01
Well apparently the Eagles CAN play worse than last week. Really impressed with the Dallas defense and their offense is runnin all over Philly. What a collapse after winning 6 straight but sometimes its about matchups and the Cowboys have had the Eagles number this year.

The only positive thing I can take from this game is seeing Miles Austin's ass jiggle all over the place. That is the best ass to ever be showcased in a Cowboy uniform. The things I would do to it.
sportinlife
Hmm, Ben's Gals folded to the Nyets. Who's gonna take over with extravagant endzone celebrations without ochocinco?

No one I hope.
mets57
another super bowl win-less year by the eaglets!

now somebody beat the girls!
mdterp01
RAVENS BABY!!!!! That ass whoopin from the Ravens to the Patriots was a long time coming, particularly since their earlier game in the season featured Brady acting like a little bitch wanting flags thrown because somebody dared try and bring him down. Took him and Belicheat to the woodshed. LOVING IT!!! Now another grudge match next week vs the Colts...another game they let slip by earlier in the season. DEFENSE BABY!!!! At least one of my teams won this weekend.

As for next weekend:

NYJ vs San Diego....San Diego

Cowgirls vs Vikings...can't both of them lose? Lets see...either I have to see that goofy lookin Tony Romo for another game or endure all the slobbering on Favre's balls if they win. I'm gonna go with the Cowboys. Again...matchups. Look at the NFC East...Cowgirls owned the Eagles, Vagiants owned the Cowgirls and the Eagles owned the Vagiants. I see a ton of matchup issues for Favre and his team next week. They are just on it here at the end of the season and I think they will continue to ride it.

Ravens vs Colts....Ravens

Cardinals vs Saints...hmmm...I'm gonna go Saints. I think they needed the week off to get their shyt together and will go to the championship game to face the team who waxed them a few weeks ago.

chargers
vikes ewww
colts
cards
sportinlife
Saints defense will need to step up against the Cards. If they do I think they'll win the game.

Love seeing the Ravens get a shot at the Colts. The guys on the teams are probably too young to remember but I'll bet there are more than a few folks in Balt'mer who are salivating for a little vengeance.
Joe in Philly
The Saints destroyed Arizona. They'll have a tougher test next week no matter who they play, but I think they're going to the Super Bowl.
mets57
romo chokes again! hahhahaha

Well I'm 1-2 right now. Here's hoping San Diego wins so I can go 2-2. I am happy that I was wrong about the Vikes/Boys game though. There I go being a sheep and following the national media and everyone else slurpin on the Cowgirls balls. They got a WHOOPIN and I ain't even mad at the Vikes runnin up the score. Don't like it? Keep em out of the endzone!!!! When was the last time we had both the NFC and AFC championship games feature 1 and 2 seeds in both games? So glad the Vikes won!!!
mdterp01
Wow...Chargers blowing it once again in the playoffs!! I don't think anyone picked the Jets to win.
mets57
kaeding is horrible and rivers couldn't do anything in the 2nd half.

jets defense was very good though.
mdterp01
Guess I don't need to worry about that whole both 1 and 2 seeds from each conference question. This is going to be a long offseason for the Chargers. Amazing...Jets are lucky to even be in the playoffs the way the Colts shut it down, and now the two will be playing for a chance at the Super Bowl. It would almost be karma if the Jets go into Indy and get it done. Wow...1 for 4 this weekend. I freakin suck!!!!
George Twins fan
Nice to get that crybaby Rivers and that whiner Tomlinson out again!
mets57
marky mark has more postseason games than romo hahaa

mark wasn't great but at least he didn't lose the game.
phillyrunner
At least the Jets-Chargers game was competetive. I was impressed with their defense.

The rest of the games were so one-sided. Indy may regret having rested their starters against the Jets at the end of the season, now that they have to face them again.

Meanwhile does one playoff win against a wild-card team preserve Wade Phillips job in Dallas? Today's blow out loss should leave a bad taste in Jerry Jones mouth.
George Twins fan
Yeah I wonder if Wade is in trouble too. But I also have to wonder if Norv Turner is too. He once again takes the hottest team going into the playoffs and loses early.
mets57
darelle revis is such a beast.

he should've won the defensive player of the year.

I think Dallas and San Diego should just trade coaches. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Thank you, Minnesota Vikings, from the bottom of my heart!
mdterp01
I'm with the commentator who was trying to figure out why the Chargers went for the onside kick? Rookie QB who hadn't put up stellar numbers in a pressure situation with the Chargers only down 3 figuring they would run the ball. You have one time out and the 2 minute warning. Why not kick it off and see if your defense can get a 3 and out and then end up with better field position than a failed onside kick would give you? Just a really bad call.

The Colts did shut up those questioning their decision to rest their starters and not go for 19-0 and I expect them to handle theiir business next week. The Jets will have to play even better than they did today and the Colts have a fast, swarming D as well. But you've got Peyton vs Sanchez. Nice run rookie but it ends next week.
mets57
turner needs to go.

chargers, like the boys, choke year after year in the playoffs.

Just saw a CBC Sports report on one of the biggest Minnesota Vikings fans... who happens to be Canadian. CheeseFree sits in row 1 in the end zone, costumed like a Viking, but is actually from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Today's Jets @ Colts game...

Call me weird (everyone else does), but every time a see a bald eagle fly during our National Anthem, I get the chills and a wee bit misty eyed. It's simply an awesome site!

Damn you, CBS, for cutting away to commercial before the eagle landed (I don't think he wanted to, either--he kept circling).

Geaux Saints

f**k up Favre.

Saints-Vikings going to OT... go Saints!
phillyrunner
Well, I am glad the Saints are going to their first SB. The game was pretty ugly especially on the Vikings side with fumbles galore. Offensively the Vikes moved the ball at will, but shot themselves with all the mistakes they made. Farve forced a play near the end of regulation that resulted in an interception when he had room to run and pickup maybe 10 yards to get in field goal range. He will relive that play in his head for a while.

Saints vs. Colts

Brees vs. Manning

Lovin' it. Lovin' it.
Joe in Philly
That gunslinging, risk-taking, INT-throwing Brett Favre, having been missing all season, finally showed up at the end of the 4th quarter and handed the NFC championship to the Saints on a silver platter.

And all those fumbles!
Jim at Outsports
Favre's last pass for the Packers? INT
Favre's next to last pass for the Jets? INT
Favre's last pass for the Vikings? INT
MetsfanChi
He is a one-man dream crushing playoff wrecking gunslingin crew.
sportinlife
Maybe Brett Favre pulled a Brett Favre to give the Saints their story line...NOT!

He's been making that heroic pass across his chest, and getting praised by analysts for being able to do it, for years.

No surprise he thought he could pull it off one more time.

Some old dogs will not learn new tricks.

And Favre is an old, old, old dog.

Hate the bark love the dog.
mdterp01
As much as I loathed Favre for the "I'm retiring....oops my bad I'm coming back" drama over the last couple of years, his play this season really turned me around and I felt bad for him during his press conference. He looked beat up....literally. Statistically it was his best year and its ashame that the very thing he had gotten some of the biggest praise for (i.e. low interception rate) is the very thing that game will probably be remembered for the most. My boyfriend was pulling for the Vikings but he stopped after they kept losing the ball. Sure Favre didn't even allow them the chance to make the field goal, but had they not turned the ball over so damn much they should've beaten New Orleans by 2 touchdowns. But, thats the way it goes. The turnovers were too much for them to overcome and they almost did overcome it. That said...still glad the Saints beat up his old ass!! tongue.gif

As for the Jets/Colts...puhlease...I knew so many people thinking the Jets had a chance. Yeah they started out hot but it only takes Peyton a little bit of time before he adjusts...and he adjusts well. Jets didn't do shit after late in the second quarter.

So....after all that analyzing...after all that "The Colts should go 19-0 so why are they resting their starters?" and "The Saints have looked horrendous down the stretch" we end up with the two teams who started out on incredible win streaks. Both #1 seeds going to the Super Bowl for the first time since '93? Good lord I had no idea it had been that long. Great effort from all teams but the two I wanted to make it did and thank gawd I now don't have to use any purple to decorate for my Super Bowl Party. Oh god could you have imagined if I had to use purple and green? Yes...a huge thanks to Manning and Brees.
sportinlife
Garrett Hartley's I had a dream speech.

Bookies take notice.
