Well one more HUGE reason not to watch the fairly imbalanced Network.
millerbeach
The only reason to watch is the same reason everyone watches a train wreck...too good to pass up, especially her first week. She'll get the numbers to zoom...for a while. Then, even the dimmest bulb will realize this bimbo is nothing on top of nothing. She will retain some rabid fans, but this just may be the undoing of Sarah Palin. There is nothing brighter than a spotlight, and all truths are revealed in the light. Sarah should be very, very afraid of the truth. It will haunt her for the rest of her days.

Actually Fox does pretty good comedy.

I hope her script write remembers to use small words and to spell phonetically.Saying words like Shite incorrectly can really get you in trouble.

I wonder if she will use a teleprompter? laugh.gif
sportinlife
The first time she decides to go "rogue" and draw blood (metaphorically) from Roger Ailes, we will learn of her true journalistic bona fides and how long her career will be.

No, that would be our Liar-in-Chief & Glorious Leader Obama, who couldn't publicly speak without one. At least Bush was a bumbling idiot all by himself.

Anyway, regarding Palin: who cares??? The obsession you people have with this chick is beyond me.

Well there's some rumblings that she might be the top candidate for President on that side in 2012. Personally I believe it's just a way to keep her in the public eye and there's no chance in hell she could win the nomination.

Oh, and btw she doesn't need a teleprompter. You only really need one when you are talking intelligently about complex issues.

God help us.

Palin not as popular as everyone thinks? She came in 3rd in the straw poll at the CPAC conference with only 7% of the votes.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul - 31 percent
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney -- 22 percent
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- 7 percent
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty - 6 percent
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich - 4 percent
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee -- 4 percent
Indiana Rep. Mike Pence - 5 percent
South Dakota Sen. John Thune -- 2 percent
Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels -- 2 percent
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum -- 2 percent
Mississippi Gov. Hailey Barbour - 1 percent
Other - 5 percent
Undecided - 6 percent

How did I get on this mailing list?! I just received an e-mail inviting me to "An Intimate Evening with Sarah Palin" in Hamilton (her first public speaking engagement in Ontario!). I'm disheartened that there are Canadians willing to pay $200/ticket to hear that woman speak. Is she going to tell us, in our own country, how bad our health care is? Or what is it that she's going to talk about? Yikes, stay away Sarah!

This is the invite link (PDF).

Apparently it is a "finely honed skill" to read from a teleprompter rather than use note cards as president Bush did or to use whatever it is that Governor Sarah Palin uses.

Between Bush and Obama that may be accredited to a generational difference, since Ronald Reagan was also uncomfortable with telepromters. Obama is probably our most tech-savvy president and it has more to do with his age than his political views.

In Palin's case it has much to do with culture as well.

She wants to impress a group of people who are not comfortable with technology and the elitist image it projects. Not to mention that she probably got through tertiary school without having to use any of the newfangled devices kids are accustomed to now. BTW it has not changed morals. Cheating is just high-tech.

The riposte by actress Andrea Friedman (who has Down Syndrome), and who voiced the character with Down Syndrome on Family Guy that Miss Sarah takes issue with is hysterical.
QUOTE
My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was born with Down syndrome. I played the role of Ellen on the "Extra Large Medium" episode of Family Guy that was broadcast on Valentine's day. Although they gave me red hair on the show, I am really a blonde. I also wore a red wig for my role in " Smudge" but I was a blonde in "Life Goes On". I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm".

In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes. laugh.gif

Is Sarah Palin going for the Ellie Mae Clampett look?

If she can be cropped out of that picture, it's actually a beautiful scene. Damn! Alaska is breathtaking.

But I digress.

Can this woman just go away?!?

For the love of God, enough of her!!!

Oh, I don't know...wouldn't she do better with a Marlo Thomas look, from "That Girl"? Looks like she had enough Aquanet to last through a very heavy rain. So, how is her show doing? Anyone privy to numbers?
millerbeach
Wow...she can't even conduct an honest interview, and pisses off Toby Keith, all in one show! Yup, she's a powerhouse. A power shithouse, that is.

But I particularly liked it when Fox dissed LL Cool J. So low. I hope he's writing a rap song about the whole episode. Let's see, what rhymes with Palin? Failin'? Bailin'? Nailin'? And what rhymes with Fox.... tongue.gif

Fox's statement:
QUOTE
"Real American Stories" features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith’s [referring to LL Cool J's real name] interview fit that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career.

Note to Fox: LL Cool J's "fledgling" acting career spans over 20 years of movies and TV--longer than Ms. Palin's political career. And her second career as a journalist/Fox talking head is, obviously, very "fledgling." LL Cool J, meanwhile, is even more famous as an award-winning musical artist. So, even his second career has gone on longer than Palin's first. So nice of you to belittle the person you had thought was important enough to put on the debut episode of your show, Fox. That's class.

Interesting article on Palin, Inc. in New York magazine: How Sarah Palin Has Become a Single National Industry

Like mother, like daughter. 19-year old single mother Bristol Palin is set to hit the speakers circuit and will command between $15,000 and $30,000. I wonder if Levi knows his baby mama is making 30k and she doesn't even have to take her clothes off.
QUOTE
Bristol Palin is hitting the speakers' circuit and will command between $15,000 and $30,000 for each appearance, Palin family attorney Thomas Van Flein said Monday.

Van Flein confirmed a report by celebrity news website RadarOnline that the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has signed with Single Source Speakers. He added her exact fees will depend on factors such as which group she's addressing and what she must to do prepare.

Bristol Palin, 19, is listed on the speaking group's website as available for conferences, fundraisers, special events and holidays, as well as women's, youth, abstinence and "pro-life" programs.

Van Flein said Bristol Palin will be selective in the speeches she gives.

He said he believes she's interested in expanding her message beyond teen pregnancy to include her experiences on the campaign trail and in the media spotlight; her parenting approach; and her outlook on life.

Bristol Palin lives in Anchorage and works in a physician's office, Van Flein said.

I suppose now that she is working in a doctors office she will at least be able to get birth control pills. Please God, don't let this family keep breeding.
