Dont know if any of you have been following the African Nations Cup in Angola. Just finished today - Egypt beat Ghana in the final. Anyway just before the tournament began the Togo team bus was attacked and three people were shot dead (driver and two members of the Togo delegation). Togo withdrew their team from the competition.

Yesterday the African Federation (governing body) fined Togo for withdrawing and banned their national team from participating in the next two tournaments.

You coudnt make it up LOL

Hell yeah that was a bit harsh... mad.gif I'm glad CAF and Angola are being sued by the families and the Togolese gov't should sue too. sue, sue, sue until you can't sue no more! tongue.gif Well, I do understand the point about government interference and they probably were thinking they were being sensitive to wait until after the tournament to make the decision but these are extreme circumstances... This is where I think FIFA falters in their rules about getting involved with regional federation decisions.
Well, maybe it will help footballers from Togo get more international attention considering clubs will not have to release them to play in this tournament and it won't disrupt league play!!!
