How Obama picked this guy I just don't get.

Currently the Dept of the Interior has okayed the extermination of wolves in some states using helicopters. This is occurring at the same time a parvovirus epidemic is also wreaking havoc in the species. This despite recent research supporting the advantages of having a major predator species in the wilderness.

Ken Salazar is a Democrat in name only. A Catholic, he opposes gay adoption. During the confirmation hearings for Alberto Gonzales for Attorney General (Bush White House), Salazar sat besides Gonzales the entire time.
