Oregon sophomore pole vaulter Tommy Skipper probably will miss four to six weeks of the early season after undergoing knee surgery last week.
The Sandy native underwent the arthroscopic procedure on March 21 to repair a small tear in the medial meniscus in his left knee, and doctors reported the procedure went well.
The injury occurred in mid-February, and Skipper opted to compete in three more meets, and won the NCAA indoor championships (18 feet, 41/2 inches).
