The young man who posted as Elemental has transitioned. He had a fatal asthma attack Thursday. He had only recently turned 34. He is preceeded in death by his husband. If you at Outsports would like to honor Alex please donate to the charity Oxfam. Alex believed in gay rights, feminist rights and animal/eco rights. Shalom sweet Alex. Barbara

Oh my...there are just no words. This is absolutely awful. I guess the only solace is that he is now reunited with his husband. My sincere condolences. This is just so sad.

am i the only one who thinks there's something fishy about this whole story? from the death of the husband, to the poster getting hospitalized, and dying?

No, you're not the only one.

No, you're not the only one.
I hate to say it, but I have my doubts, too.
How does one exactly "transition?"

Online, particularly if no one's being hurtful, all you can do is take them at their word and wish them the best.

Hi Barbara,
Can you post a link to Alex's obituary so that we can pay our respects by leaving online condolences? A college friend died a few days ago and it was very nice to be able to read how she touched other people's lives. Best, Jay

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, if you doubt the legitimacy of this then perhaps it's best to ignore it.

I too, would like to see a link to his obit, if possible. Alex was a regular poster here, and he will be missed. My deepest sympathy to his family, and you, Barbara.
I haven't believed any of this. It is someone's idea of playtime.
