In his new autobiography, "Omar! My Life On and Off The Field," Omar Vizquel, the Indians' Gold Glove shortstop, reveals that Albert Belle, his Cleveland teammate from 1994-96, used corked bats. And in doing so, he began a chapter of it by saying, "I didn't hate Albert Belle. But he was certainly a difficult guy to like."
Belle denied it on Jim Rome's nationally syndicated radio talk show and added: "I'm sure he didn't really like me, so he's not going to say nice things about me...He must not have had anything to write about. He sure doesn't have enough interesting things to write about from his career."
(Why would someone want to publish Omar Vizquel's autobiography, by the way??? I thought it was stupid when some of the 1986 Mets such as Lenny Dykstra published their life stories. But at least they WON a World Series.)
