this is getting tougher, Taylor vs Safin was particularly difficult. And Ausmus is a man I could spend all day looking at.

I'm with you on the Ausmus watchability factor. My tough decision in this bracket was between Vinatieri and Despatie. And the Brees v. Boller match should be tight all the way to the end.

There's no rational reason why Javy Lopez should be trailing so badly. The man has the best ass in the Major Leagues and this is the thanks he gets?!?!?!?!

Alex Smith vs Andy Roddick is the toughest one for me...I picked Roddick in the end.

Koji Murofushi vs. Ben Cohen was the toughest for me. I'm a Ben Cohen fan, but I need to keep my eyes on Koji. Wow!

I love Koji. But I think he's got his work cut out again Cohen.
My toughest decision was the Taylor/Safin match-up.

How is Andy Roddick losing? Man, he's having a bad year.

Breaking News: Alex Smith & Andy Roddick are deadlocked at 38.
Jason Taylor leads Marat Safin by a slim 39-37 vote.
Brees needs to start working that Butt. He's trailing 42-34.
Maybe Brees needs to talk to Despatie who's working his bulge out to a 42-34 lead over Vinatieri.

Alex Smith has to win, he is cute as hell, and has a bangin body. So much more ripped than Andy.

For you A-Rod, the tennis edition, fans, he's taken a slim lead over Alex Smith. Lots of these races are tight: Vinatieri v. Despatie, Brees v. Boller, and Taylor v. Safin all are too close for CNN or NBC to call.
But they're already predicting a Brad Ausmus victory.

What? How could Roddick possibly beat Alex Smith? Roddick's a punk and Smith is ... well, just look at that pic of him in the ice water!

Damn, I agree. Watching Javy Lopez walk to the mound, or kneel when he is catching is pure pleasure. He does have best ass in MLB. Albert Pujols come close.
Go Jason. I'm hoping that he makes it to the final four. It would be nice if it was:
Javy Lopez vs. Jason Taylor
Brad Ausmus vs. Koji
That would be great.

When did Vinatieri pass Despatie?
Mariner Duck Guy
Mar 29 2006, 10:05 PM
As we are nearing the end of Day 1, we have some excellent games going on.
Vinatieri leading Despatie 59-54.
Taylor leads Safin 59-54
Roddick leads Smith 60-53
and
Boller leads Brees 57-56.
Day 2 should be a doozy.

Some tight races!
I am mildly surprised that Despatie is trailing Vinatieri 68-66.
Boller has pulled out to a 68-66 lead over Brees.
70-64 is the current score for the Jason Taylor vs. Marat Safin and Alex Smith vs. Andy Roddick match-ups.
This is the last day to vote! Your vote could decide the fate of one or more of these men.

Regarding Brees, how can one not vote for a man who hugs babies and is just as cute doing it as the baby? Awww, adorable. Let's put out the vote for Brees, his butt, and his caring, child-loving personality.

The Sweet 16 is set and it is dominated by Football players.
Here's the breakdown:
Football: 6
Tennis: 2
Rugby: 2
Baseball: 2
Skiing: 1
Soccer: 1
Swimming: 1
Aussie Football: 1
There are some intriguing match-ups.
Michael Owen vs. Tom Brady should be interesting.
Markus Rogan vs. Freddy Michalak is hot hot hot
and will Jason Taylor be able to knock out Jeremy Bloom?
The Sweet 16 starts Monday.
The Elite Eight begins on Wednesday.

I'm all about the ABB: Anybody But Bloom. Plus, Michael Owen needs to be avenged for the travesty last year.

I BEG all of you: Say no to Jeremy Bloom! Nothing personal, but seeing the same person win every year gets rather boring!

Mar 31 2006, 02:05 PM
I'm torn. Bloom is the one guy Dan says I can have sex with if I get him to agree to it because I find him SOOOOO hot. But, yeah, three straight years? If he wins this year, I'll vote for retiring him for a year or two. By then, if he's not drafted in the NFL, hopefully he'll have put on a few pounds around the gut eek!
Mariner Duck Guy
Mar 31 2006, 02:34 PM
This is actually Bloom's last year. Three years is the max you can enter. Kind of like Menudo. You age out.
Although a case could be made that Bloom is three years in skiing. What if he makes the NFL? Does that make him eligile for another 3 years as a football player? Hmmm.
The match-up with Jason Taylor in the Sweet 16 should be very interesting because the question will be; Are people voting for Jason Taylor because he's a stud, or are they voting for him (Jim & Jim Allen

as a vote against Jeremy?
Others who are facing the 3 year "retirement": Ausmus, Burrell, Jason Taylor, Javy Lopez, Mike Alstott, Landon Donovan, Szczerbiak, JMG, Zito & Roddick.

It's too early in the tournament's history to retire players. If jeremy Bloom wins, then he wins. He should continue to be eligible. I vote based on the individual matchup (voted against Bloom once already this year, but next matchup will be a new decision for me).
As different people join the board and different athletes emerge, the nominations will change, and Bloom will eventually be de-throned. Let it happen naturally-by votes, not eligibility limits.
