Hopefully only yours!
Hi, God? This is Dave again. David Carr. Yep. How're you doin? Happy Easter. Um...God...you know I haven't asked for much. Obviously, right? (chuckle) The Texans are still in the crapper. (chuckle) Um...do you still do that smite thing? Oh you do? Cool. There's this guy at Outsports named Jim who keeps giving me grief. Oh you know him? Well could you send down a smite? Nothing too heavy you know... You will? Great! Oh, on one condition? Okay, we'll take Reggie Bush. Done and done.

216 votes as of Easter Morning. That's great. And Maddog, the photo of Carr on the phone talking to God about Jim at Outsports, very funny stuff.

Awwww...thanks Jim. However this personality has a body attached to it that would have prevented him from being in the competition in the first place.

Wow. What a surprise. I voted for Carr, bigger fantasy man in my book. But Brad is a hottie too, I just would have expected a tighter race. brad won 2/3 of the vote.

There's a grief that can't be spoken.
As the pain goes on and on.
Empty chairs at empty tables.
Now the votes are read and done.
Well I knew when it became God vs. Billy Bean that we were in trouble. On this board Billy reigns supreme. I have to admit I thought it would be a little closer though.
Congrats to that hunka hunka burnin' catcher!

Thirty minutes with David Carr in a room together is quite possibly my ultimate fantasy (actually, Carr AND Bloom would be). But, I voted for Ausmus because at least he's on record as being gay-friendly.

Wow, I too am surprised at the margin of victory. I wonder if it would have been closer with open results. Regardless, I think he is a great winner! I, too, voted for him because of the whole package, including his personality. And I still haven't forgiven Carr for the "That Girl" haircut he sported a couple of years ago.

I gotta say I'm a little disappointed in the front page blurb on this site, calling David Carr a "bible thumper." Isn't this the kind of vague name calling this site rails against, when Johnny Weir is called "flamboyant?" I'm not naive enough to think the world is devoid of double standards, but that doesn't mean this site shouldn't take the high road every now and then.
And I don't care if David Carr rapes puppies while on his way to Klan meetings, while Brad Ausmus helps old ladies across the street before going to give cookies at the Red Cross. This was about who was hotter. Bad for you if you voted against Carr because of his religious beliefs or for Ausmus because of his apparent gay-friendly stance. This was one instance you were not supposed to think with your brain!
...and yes, this was the result of a craptastic day at work.

I agree Dan. I think it's meant as a dig the same way people are called tree-huggers or queer. I'm sure every group eventually "owns" these names to help defang the dig. Though whether Dave calls himself a Bible-thumper is moot. A higher ground would have been nice.

I also voted for Brad for a couple reasons:
1) the Detroit connection
2) he is gay friendly
3) he has that All-American hot guy next door look
4) I am older now and actually am more attracted to his looks than the younger set... I like more mature men
Oh well.

Hmmm...
Younger than Brad, older than David; less than two bare asses; more than 5 less than 3 dozen; less than the # flavors highlighted at B.R.s.
But I am available for any of the 64 men in KOTH to go on a date with. Except Shani Davis and Chad Hedricks. Two asses dont make a right.

Major kudos to MDG for all his work on this and for taking the brickbats about the seeding in the earlier rounds. Great job as always and thanks for doing one of the funner things on the board.

I love voting for a winner! Brad Ausmus deserved to win if for no other reason than his willingness to hug Padre fans--he was with the Padres then, along with Steve Finley [be still my heart!]--as they entered the stadium for the first home game following a work stoppage. I still have the Padre cap I got that night and the photo I took with Ausmus.
