His name's Matt Abboud...but
the magazine identified him as \"Steven\"... He posed after his final season was over so as to not affect his NCAA eligibility.
Just to remind everyone, since I'm sure there will be a mad rush to search for the pics, no porn photos or links allowed. (Always happy to do my part to help the moderators.) wink

Freakin' Hot!!! I wonder how they got his picture when he turned them down the first time? Maybe a teammate sent his photo in from a nude modeling session?

Just kidding!

What a hottie! Now I'll have to rush out-Ahem I mean, the next time I'm near the Castro I'll have to go by Jaguar books to see if they have any interesting reading material. Yeah, that's it! Now if they can only convince Blaine Wilson!

If you notice the magazine's advertising, it's being targeted more and more toward "us" than it is toward "them".

Plus, they keep using gay porn stars as models.

Well, just to add to Bobby's comments. I was laughing with a friend of mine about the "Real Man" section. Typically, if you want to give people a "straight" perception of a guy posing, it is probably not a good idea to use a photo of him with a print of a naked man on the back wall. See the current issue to know what I am talking about.

Even though that's not the best pic of Sean, I've been a big fan of that cute Texan for the past several years....some might say his gymnastics career has been full of disappointments lately (including his brief suspension after he and two teammates were caught using "illegal substances" a couple of years ago) but that hasn't taken away from his showmanship and humble personality, which is VERY sexy IMHO.
For those interested in seeing a LOT more pics of Mr. Townsend, check out these links:

a teammate (or coach?) consoling Sean after an apparently disappointing performance.

If you're at all above average height, that's not surprising. Gymnasts, like non-heavyweight wrestlers, tend to be on the short and stocky side (not heavy, but not "skinny" either). This gives them a lower center of gravity and enables them to navigate tighter spaces. (And you can take that idea anywhere you like.

If one goes to the Playgirl.com website, for the October issue, there is a picture of Christian. I had the real pleasure of being massaged by him. He is a damn good AND hot masseur. He lives in Los Angeles County.

I saw the pics of Christian in the issue. He has smooth pits (swoon!), but uncut isn't my cup of tea. Sorry, guys.

Since when did the Olympics allow corporate logos to appear on gymnast's uniforms?
This photo features one hunky young man, with great pits, but the Chevron logo detracts from his eye-pleasing body.

Playgirl is such a hypocritical publication. They clame that only straight women read the magazine. They insist that all of their models are married to women or have girlfriends. They have all the gay sex adverts in the magazine but no gay supposedly buys it. And most if not all the models including the Real Men are gay as hell. Remember when the model made the video about being a playgirl model? His name escapes me. And many colt models have done Playgirl centerfolds. Many PG models are male hustlers too especially the Real Men.

Interesting observation Sergei. I remember reading an article some time ago that Playgirl editors knew that the vast majority of their readers were gay men but since they were adamant that their publication was toward straight women, they always pumped up their models sexual exploits with women. Besides, Playgirl is a magazine that actually has straight men running it, despite the fact it has a woman editor. I was reading the same article that said many women editors are just figure heads wielding marginal power at best. I guess it's like Chippendales. You know for a fact gay men love it but that's not something promoters want to acknowledge. I think it would be a turn-off for straight women if they knew that gay men were just as entertained by the shows, if not more so. Ah well. By the way, the Playgirl model in question is Dirk Shafer. He made a "mockumentary" called Man of the Year where he talked about his life during his Playgirl tenure.

Some PG models become big successes in the field of male modeling but they are sadly in the minority. I know that a few did International male catalogues and some of the fitnsess magazines. I remember people expected that the Hungarian fellow Zoltan would become a very successful model after the PG gig but I don't know what happened to him at all. I believe that he was an exotic dancer/stripper.

Case in point is Playgirl's June centerfold, Rick Dinihanian, an openly gay San Franciscan. The focus of his pictorial was that, at 54, he was the oldest man to ever appear in the magazine, but no reference is made to his orientation. In fact, the following link states among other things what traits in a woman make him melt. (FYI, for those at work, the link is rated X)

Feh. A longtime friend of mine got featured in the Real Men pictorials back in 2000. I gave him grief over his "ideal qualities in a woman" write-up, but he laughingly said it wasn't even a gender-switch on actual answers from him, Playgirl just made the info up from scratch.

I remember the man from last years playgirl scott merritt who came out after being there man of all time or whatever it was called. It turned out that he had been married to a woman and fathered a child then left his wife for the current guy. His partner offered to give him viagra if he needed it for the picture shoot. He is very hot.

An update on Matt Abboud from Filth2Go.com:
QUOTE
A few months ago, I wrote about sexy Matt Abboud. Just to refresh your memory, Abboud was a promising gymnast at Penn State, until he decided to pose nude for Playgirl (and impressed the powers that be at the magazine enough to end up on the cover). His au naturel layout may have ended one career, but Matt’s landed on his feet and has been pursuing work as a model and/or exotic dancer. As luck would have it, he’s got a gig that’s a cross between the two – Abboud is the latest Bacardi Boy! Yes, Matt is one of those hot guys hired by the brass at Bacardi to go to nightclubs around the country and promote their products – and show a bit of skin. You’ll recall that Reichen was a Bacardi Boy – that’s how he met Chip. It’s anyone’s guess where Matt could end up, especially since one stop on his tour was West Hollywood’s très gay hot spot here. Matt had no problem showing off his delicious abs (and a hint of his Calvins) for Filth2Go’s cameras and for the crowd. I hasten to add that all questions about his sexuality were skirted without exception.
