The Latin good looks, the bedroom eyes, the shy smile,
and this 28 year old Venezuelan infielder is a pretty good player. This former Met is batting .391 so far with Oakland. His mother is Spanish and his father is Italian. What's not to like about that?
Check out his SI pic at
SI link to Scutaro pic and stats Try this link for an action shot:
I can fly! Also, check out the video links from the A's home page, especially the double play:
Scutaro's page at Oakland website Gotta love that chin dimple But why in God's name does he pronounce his name "scooter-oh" instead of "scoo-TAR-oh"? Sounds like a breakfast cereal. "Have you had your scooteros this morning?" On the other hand, I wouldn't mind getting a spoonful of THAT.

Marco Scooterpie is gorgeous! I was a fan of his last year when he was with the Mets and just saw him live and in person as the A's played the Angels in Anaheim. I thought I'd spend my day drooling over Barry Zito (and rightfully so) but I found I just couldn't take my eyes off Mr. Scutaro. Totally yummy!

Send me an invitation to the Scutaro Love Fest and I'll totally be there. When Mark Mulder pitches with Marco, Eric Chavez and Bobby Crosby playing the infield I think my head could explode.
I guess it's the year for the A's to have all the Bay Area baseball eye candy; the Giants certainly don't, IMHO. (And to think a few years ago they had JT Snow, Jeff Kent, Rich Aurilia and Bill Mueller all on the infield.)
Marco -- keep up good work. We enjoy watching you play!

The A's are definitely the best looking team in baseball. Scutaro, Crosby, Chavez, Zito, Kotsay...yeah, my head's exploding, too!!!

Whatever happened to the hot Staten Islander Frank Menechino? Is he in Triple-A or was he traded?
If he's still around, he's my vote for the hottest A (sorry Eric).

Frank's currently on the A's DL (or possibly doing a rehab stint). Which is why we're getting to see Scutaro. Nothing against Frank, but -- yay!

It was nice having Marco on the team last season.

Obviously... it's pronounced "scooter-oh" to rhyme with CUTE-er-oh...
I too miss Frankie "Italian Fireplug" Menechino (and yes, he's doing a rehab stint for a calf problem -- I'd be happy to massage those calves, Frankie). But Scutaro is a fine substitute.

I'd add Byrnes to that list.

Adam, you are absolutely right. Eric Byrnes is also yummy! As is Tim Hudson, whom I also left off the list. So many hunky A's, so little time!

The local A's pre-game show on FOX Sports just had an interview with Scutaro. Sorta soft-spoken and shy, maybe because of his accent. Bonus: he was interviewed by former Mets matinee idol Ron Darling. Hmmm... what's he doing in the Bay Area?
Scutaro is playing SS tonite in place of the injured Bobby Crosby (another hottie) and Frank Menechino's back (YAY!) at 2nd.
